My buddies went on satdy. pics on facebook look super manky. basicly no snow in trees. fridy nites rain was ****y. conditions prior would have been ok. satdy nite it p1ssed rain all nite freezing levels at abou 1800,1900m. visible snow ghouts above that yestdy.they drove up the trail, but I dont know how far. they dropped their sleds on part mud part snow. we went dirtbiking ... was funer ...

There must be gravel half way up the trail at quartz or maybe up near the mine wit the warm temps. can anybody confirm what the trail is like up to the cabin? I'm not going but have had a couple people say they are going to try.

Just can't wait hey, rut up the road and parking areas so they are a **** show all winter just to ride rocks.

We rode Quartz Creek today on our way down to Revy. Drove right up to the mine site (approx 10-11km?) and unloaded right onto snow. Was about a dozen other trucks up there, as well as a 26 ft enclosed right off the highway that it looks like they rode from there!!

Trail in had a half dozen open creeks, nothing overly challenging. Cabin was sparce, had to head up to the alpine and wait for the sun to hit the snow & soften it up to dip a ski in. We rode 1700m+ all day and had a great ride for November conditions. Dug a pit and recorded the following information (Other than my AST training I have not dug pits so let me know how we can improse next time):

- elevation was at 1900m. Total snow depth was approx 3ft 4" or roughly 1.1m deep. Face was N/NE facing.
- First fraction occurred hit#3 with wrist at 25mm depth (most recent dusting of snow, on top of a surface hoar layer)
- Second fraction occurred hit #3 with elbow at 175mm depth (7")
- Third fraction occurred hit#6 with elbow at 225mm depth (9")
- Fourth fraction occurred hit#15 with shoulder at 750mm depth (30").

Came down at 3pm today while the trail was soft for lubrication, creeks were not beat out too bad, snow line on the trail did not raise so there is still the possibility of unloading up at the mine site. However anything longer than a 2 place trailer or sled deck, would be a risk... felt bad for the guys who still has to ride down the road to the highway at the end of the day!

Well boys and girls its puking hard !!! ground isnt froze but sure is acummulating. started about sun up and the forcast looks good. friends were at quartz on sundy and had fun. still lots of creeks to deal with. I hope to be there this weekend

Still thin but rideable. Went sled snowboarding which was very good. Creeks still open; some trucks unloading at kiosk.

Disappointing end to the day as one our groups helmet was stolen from cabin and had a super clamp taken from truck which was staged at 10km. Sledders taking sledders gear is totally unacceptable and very discouraging. Maybe 2 dozen sleds out in total.

It sucks, but leaving gear accessible on a truck is making it easy for it to disappear. Its not always sledders in the Golden area that are the guilty ones either. People drive into the staging areas looking for easy pickings. Yes a helmet being taken in the cabin is out right ridiculous!

Asshats are everywhere, there was a trailer stolen from a truck parked at Forster last week.

It's brutal to see. What pi$$ed me off the most was the stolen items at Quartz were absolutely sledders, no question. We unloaded at the mines, put all the gear in the back of the truck with tonneau cover closed. Didn't lock tailgate because we figured at 10km in, only sledders would have access. My mistake.

As a community, if you see something odd question it. Sorry for the rant, still mad and disappointed with people's choices and lack of respect.
