Batten down the hatches — a storm’s a brewin’.
A heavy band of snow is expected to rock much of the province as snowfall accumulations are expected to reach 25 cm, and even as high as 50 cm in some areas.
Environment Canada has issued winter storm warnings for communities in central and southern Alberta, including warnings in Calgary, Banff, Lethbridge, Red Deer, Medicine Hat, Cochran and Olds, Jasper National Park, and Rocky Mountain House.
Environment Canada is calling for a possible 25 to 35 cm of snow in the area. In higher elevations in mountain parks and along the foothills snowfall accumulations may reach as high as 50 cm.
Snow is expected to form over Jasper and then make its way south Wednesday. The heaviest snow is expected to fall overnight and into Thursday morning. The snow is expected to end Friday.

A snowfall warning remains in place for Edson and Whitecourt, where forecasters are predicting 10 to 20 cm of snow. Travel is not recommended as the heaviest snow is expected to fall along the Yellowhead Highway.

We got hammered in PG, cars stuck everywhere. Hopefully my sled will make it out of my yard without getting buried.

Rained all night in Cranbrook. It's only -0.3 at 5700 ft. so don't hold out much hope for snow there either.
