I bought a couple GT-3TP which are tri-power. 2,5, and 8 watt settings. There are quite a few Baofeng models.

In them hills.
Where is the best place to buy them from? Tried to buy off of amazon.ca but they wouldn't shop to "my region" for some reason.

I see Boefeng tech out of the states is a authorized distributor and warranty center, might try and give them a call on Monday.

Or is there a specific seller on eBay a guy should be looking for?

I bought 3 uv-82HP from Baofengtech. They mailed them out to me no problem. Good service from them as one showed up DOA and they just mailed me another one and didn't want the dead one back.

Does anyone know of any programmers in Calgary?
Have a couple of UV5R's that need a set up and my programming cable hasn't shown up yet.
Does anyone have their radios registered even for short range FRS/ GMRS?

they are quite easy to program manually on the radio take about 10 mins to program all of the GMRS/FRS channels into memory
download the manual at the link below and it goes through the entire radio in depth

Your radio/electronics can f' with your becon. Best to keep other electronics as far as possible from your beacon! Or remove them from yourself if you are doing a search.

Re: Frequency List/CHIRP Image for Sledding & Baofeng Radios

Sorry for no response everyone, i have had a ton of guys emailing me for an updated file. here is the ones me and my buddies are running this year

OwnesUV5R2015Sledding.img :: Free File Hosting - File Dropper: File Host for Mp3, Videos, Music, Documents.

any channel with a .5 beside it means that is Privacy channel .5

aka FRS 9 is just 9 but 9.5 is channel 9 with privacy code 5

just incase you are working with other radios and want a privacy code. this can also be manually changed on your radio in the field just watch a youtube video on it.

I have also added BC RR roads up to #20

Thanks
Dustin

Hey Dustin thanks for the img file. I think I read somewhere that if a .img file is used for a different model baofeng radio it might not work and could brick the radio. Maybe better to make a .csv file? Correct me if I am wrong. Has anyone else used this file on a different model of baofeng?
