Yes because ONLY prairie riders die in avy's, crevasses.

Generalization for sure. But it wont be the first time in the last couple years that a sledder was stuck in a crevase and his party has no rescue gear on that glacier

Went Sunday up Forester and it's all wind blown and icy. Snow is cr@p. Mind you we had some beginners and weren't able to go to the areas I would have normally but as far as the main spots go, they suck! Needs snow bad.

Let's hope the forecast holds up and the snow is coming.

it is now official..... feb 15th the catamount glacier is open to sledders.
please use it wisely, users will be watched.
also do not drop into northstar glacier, it remains closed.

Do you know if the boundries are well marked?

i doubt it, but there is only one way in. south west corner ridgeline.
i would say if you are looking at dropping into a big bowl you will be headed into closed terrain.
i hope the club puts up the boundary map in the cabin.

Planning to head out there for long weekend, hoping the snow expected during the week will help out? Is it worth the trip or are things getting bare out there? Was planning on Forster and Paradise Mine with the girlfriend.

Any updates would be appreciated!

got a good dump in forester before the weekend, riding this weekend was outstanding. paradise has not had anything in 2 weeks.
some riders just could not wait until next weekend to ride the glacier......
