I will also forward along to the Executive to see if they have any contacts that can help you with this. Forester / catamount glacier is one of my favorite places to ride
Closure is always a step backwards
and pushes us to go further out in to untouched wilderness
the people who make these decisions have no idea what impact they do
to the kids of tomorow that will have to see these places from the hiway
with a fence in the ditch that says go no further

So did anyone else talk to the people at the radium both at the sled show? they had mentioned to me that the catamount is OPEN on feb 15 as mentioned and this is a done deal... mayby i mis-understood them i dunno. As well mentioned that Northstar glacier is CLOSED to sledders.

This is a proposed amendment to OPEN Catamount Glacier, not close. Maybe read it first, take a breather, then mass email people.

But also says forster creek area will be closed till December. I seem to remember riding in the meadows earlier than that. Is this new?

no official announcment yet, not sure who was at the sled show but the club executive has been saying this since last year.

got the latest edition of snorider magazine, looking through it and there is a full page ad from tourism radium advertising the opening of the catamount??? i hope they did not jump the gun on this.

I heard this was a done deal last year. I think there are just some concerned folks out there so the government opens up the topic to the people for discussion/ comments, but in reality the comments won't change anything....

I deal with the rec officer(same one who deals with the sled areas) through the local mountain bike club and there has been no deal yet... at least no signed agreement.

Mountain Sledder Issue 2 Catamount maybe opening Feb 15 till June.
