We were building a shop in Meeting Creek beside the old curling rink, so one day I was driving my forklift through the field beside the rink and I look down and I see a rock. I jump out and find 8 rocks half buried in the grass. All the handles were busted off but the granite was in great shape. So I offered the owner $20 a rock, he accepted and I made my own handles. You can find used ones on Kijiji but not that cheap. Have to say it’s been the best investment for winter fun.

I have 8 granite rocks. Dimensions are 10’x64’. Such a good time.

That is too cool!
I wonder if it would be easier to paint the rings on plywood then freeze over top? Might be easier set up every year!

I’ve done the backyard rinks for years but we have switched to luge!

I like that plywood idea. First year I used building wrap and I had trouble with it floating and air pockets. But the plywood I think I could pin it down into the ice. Got me thinking a different direction. Thanks.

AWESOME SET UP! Never played the game.
Do you use the same liner over and over?
If so, you could try blue and red vinyl from a sign shop and adhere it to the liner.
If you happen to try this, roll the the liner up with the art work on the outside if possible... don't fold it on the rings/circles.
I have a small sign shop and have used the vinyl for a few different things other than signs.

Kinda like darts and horse shoes... a sport you can play without putting your beer down.

I’ve found the hard plastic sled works best. The foam ones at Costco don’t last they break over the end of the ramp!
