Started with a 60 X 60 for the kids closer to shore. Started heaving a bit, so built then a regulation rink a little farther out.

Geez, a lot of of damn work but was it worth it. 9 or 10 kids on it all last night and this afternoon. Few more small bugs to sort out on the redneck zamboni, and full steam ahead.

Anyone have a couple of regulation nets that they aren't using anymore?

Greg

Looks great!

Just a reminder to check your ice thickness before your drive!!! Buddy took his bobcat out to clear the pond off and with all the cold weather he figured she would be frozen solid!!!

Fail...with all the snow protecting the ice layer and being down low it was not enough. He was lucky he only sunk above the wheels! But cost him big to did it out! But sooooo happy I can bug the hell out of him about it for the rest of his life! ......and I will !

This rink is built by our friends. They are making it even better this year. Not sure how.

spent a couple hrs last night to get ours in decent shape to skate on. It has been too close to freezing for weeks now to get it to freeze hard enough. With the cooler weather we have it is finally looking better.

Nice!
As for nets I bought the Costco ones with back stops. Held up very well! Pia to set up but work great.

Make this every year for Christmas. Found 8 granite curling rocks that needed new handles and fixed them up. The ice is Olympic quality this year!! LOL. Second best thing to do outside in the winter!!
