2015 edition. Ice was very smooth this year! Didn't even need to flood it.

I miss doing our rink! Kids are all moved out now so not worth the effort to build and maintain for minimal usage.

Here's out rink...first year I've done a rink, so it's a bit of an experiment, but it's worked out well. Next year we will go into full boards, benches, etc. It's a lot of work, but seeing the little guys spend every 3rd day out there when they are 3 and 5 is worth it.

My homeboni is a bit of a prototype. It works good, but I really don't need the towel sweep anymore. Next year I will skid mount the tank and move it out to the rink with the tractor and use a wand.

Lights are awesome..they are 100W LED floods off of Amazon...amazing how bright they are for only 200W. Stand on a fence top rail I had kicking around.

Have 2 nets from Costco now and they are heavy and well built for the money..but as mentioned, take quite a bit of time to put together

not head will require a safety check so no one gets hurt on the frozen water, ice will have to be at least 12 inches thick if more than one person is on the rink

Have the rink ready for a flood. I've been travelling for work fof almost 3 weeks. Too warm before I left
Hoping to get to it this week. Rink grew by 8ft this year
Have a 48 x 25 here. Boards we built and painted this summer. Light tower was rebuilt and added a platform and benches by the mandoor/penalty box. Excited to start flooding. Using a liner from Nicerink - worked well last year

Finished the rebuild of the light tower today. Welded a base, attached to 2x6s and weighed down with some patio stones. Used some scrap fencing top rail for bracing. Lights I had from last year and they work great - 100w Led Hyperikon floods. Only needed 2 last year for the rink. See how it goes being a bit bigger this year

Thanks Doug! Keeps the boys entertained..which keeps mama happy...which results in a happy household!! Haha...last year they used it 3-4 times a week - which means more fresh air and less screen time...the way it should be

Yes, back to the good ol' days of fresh air and exercise developing good morals and values! Gotta love rural Saskatchewan!
