Im okay for going camping for a night or something without a fire, but i'm not that heavy of a drinker and I go camping primarily to sit around a fire lol its one of the best parts about camping IMO! Aside from dirt biking, of course.. but thats the day time part of it - as sad as that sounds, I guess to each their own? Especially if the weather is slightly crappy and cold (which it USUALLY is on May long), I'd much rather be able to sit around even a little fire to stay warm, then sit in my trailer and drink cuz that is just sorta boring lol - I like to be outdoors, and its really not worth me taking 2 days off work to camp thursday, fri, sat and sun spend a chitload of money on fuel, booze and food just to sit in the cold, rain or even snow in a busy chitpacked area and not even be able to enjoy one of the most important and enjoyable parts of camping - a fire :) but that is just my opinion.

I do blame mother nature more than I blame government or greenies...not that it can be helped, but with having so little snow this winter, and very little rain this sping.. it is so dry - but a small portion of the blame could go to the people who do abuse and disrespect the land too. I really don't blame the gov't for trying to prevent some of the dumb fawks from coming out and destroying the land..its just too bad it affects everyone else who is respectful and responsible at the same time. It is what it is.

Alberta needs to rent this. I went for a water drop in it a couple years ago. It can knock down some fire.

There's a time to joke and be edgy.. and there are times to not... the whole burn my houes down, lose thousands of acres of land, jobs, wildlife air quality part... probably not the time to be funny. When we have to start paraphrasing what someone "meant to say" all sh!t hits the fan.

Out of respect for those who have lost, who may lose, and who are respectfully bringing a point of safety accross.....

How about Lose the whole... "I'm so funny" interjections pertaining to disaster issues. It's just not funny. IMO

I just read this whole thread. LMAO fight nice people. I am just bringing winter gear, i'll sit around the lantern and get pinned (a battery powered lantern). All the pussies will be in their trailers sniveling or at home. It will suck without the fire but the company will prolly be better around the lantern.JMO

You'll be hard pressed to get most of the clowns on here trying to be everyone's mother to read between the lines, women just don't seem to get sarcasm or a joke and never will

People on the verge of losing everything have a hard time seeing humor in the posts of a couple azzclowns trying to be "funny". Especially in a serious thread reminding people to be responsible so the whole province doesn't burn down.

Maybe she's just trying to voice her opinion and some word of caution..... I'm all for jokes boys, and Larry I love your antagonizing an antics, but soft spots are hit when peoples lives are being effected and you joke about it........

Maybe read this like you would the slave lake thread and understand though the current fires aren't so dangerous they are still effecting peoples lives and could have terrible out comes.

TMO keep your bs and chit talking to a thread where it's being asked for not one where people are concerned for each others.

Really dont see it as a reminder to people to be responsible, more like to "TELL" people to be responsible and like I said before nobody needs people to be their mommy on here, were all grown individuals who use our outdoors and respect our outdoors........ kinda the reason we are members on this site isn't it? Then they go spouting off how stupid we all are and we can't start real fires and don't know how to be responsible in the bush etc. etc. Id challenge any of these "MOM" figures to out survive me in the bush any day of the week, spent my whole life in the bush and I think I know what Im doing, and don't need mom to hold my hand

everyone on this site is "grown up and respects our out doors" give your head a shake........no one is telling you do do chit, they are just saying please read and obey the warnings. the fire ban LAWS are telling you what to do, these people are just voicing they're concern. and its nice that "you think you know what your doing" but any little spark from any little fire know matter wtf you know can start a wild fire......you gunna chase down every one with a fire extinguisher or water and make sure it doesnt do any harm....or just say......"oops i thought i knew what i was doing" when someone loses their home......

just sayin

Sounds like a friendly reminder to me...

P
lease use some common sense and also obey fire bans people. It is extremely dry out there right now. I know it sucks to go camping and not be able to have a fire. It sucks more when people could lose everything because someone wanted to have a fire or someone threw their cigarette butt out the window. Leave the spark arrestor in your ATVs too. :nono:

Lots of people affected by wildfires in the province right now. This thread is not to be used for bashing back and forth. This was a plea from a member who almost or may have lost their homes.

Just read a 2nd fire has started up by Bonnyville in the area of Muriel Lake, with one already burning 15-20 miles North Of Town by Moose Lake......

Keep it on topic, or stay out. Not a joking thread.....

a ridiculous comment to an equally ridiculous question, quickly getting out of hand. lots of kneejerk reactions to a sensitive plea for people to use common sense, like sharks to a feeding frenzie. everyone wants in on the action.

for my part please accept my appology skinny, never any intention to hurt your feelings or to make fun of your situation, i can only wish your situation gets better.
