this is a fire that has been going on for the last 3-4 days. started by a camp fire. first picture if from the deck of my house. the rest are ones i took from other spots...

fire ban activated today for the peace region. supposed to rain thursday and friday....hope it does. trucks are loaded with cats, hoes, and nodwells and have been on 24 hr standby since last monday. first time I've ever heard of 24 hr standby, usually it's 10 hrs/day

looks like imdooin is off his meds again..........Fire east of Fox Creek closed Hwy 43 on friday. Looks like cigarette caused it. Nieces yard south of Drayton full of neighbours trailers and boats. because they are up wind of the fire. Groat Creek (summit) cabin on our snowmobile trail burned to the ground along with shitter and wood shed last Saturday. no need for a fire ban in this area.

We just got back form Brazeau Dam and the planes that were buzzing around were incredible. The camp host told us that Drayton was on an evacuation alert so we were abit concerned and then they said that the fire turned away. Tried to get through the Lodgeploe to Drayton road at 1 today and it was still closed but it was to be reopened immediately. On our way out the signs were all saying " total fire ban" funny the hosts never told us to put out our fire. When we left we pour every ounce of water on our fire pit just to be damn sure we didn't cause another one. As wet as the trails were they were also very dry. WE need some more rain, I feel for the May long weekenders, if the fire ban persists. Has anyone seen the float planes with the tanks in the floats before seemed like there were a 1/2 dozen at the Dam on Saturday?
