I went acrylic finish on this house

Ya it's about double for standard.... Acrylic is even more... But it's money you get back when you sell...... More for higher market value homes.

Many people do hardi board out there? Its pretty popular here. How does it compare to stucco for price.

Nice looking place Dave. Be nice to have a little elbow room. I know Im sure enjoying being back on an acreage.

Yup, "composite" siding is popular here but is also 30-40 % higher than vinyl siding. Something new is seamless metal siding... Looks really good but is pricey

Once in a lifetime you meet a man you can look up to,
A man who makes you proud,
The kind if man who makes you strive to be a better person.
I am not that man.

Nice place, you must be getting excited to move in and sick of the building process by now lol.

good choice on the distance you set your garage away from the house. You can easily tell the wife you didnt hear her yell and theres no way she will want to walk out there to get you in the dark and cold.

LOL...never thought of that! I was thinking that it's far enough that I can fire up piped sleds and quads now and it shouldn't wake her in the house....but I like your reasoning better!

Ya...getting sick of babysitting the builder. Honestly, I don't know what exactly the "foreman" does. He's never there and any issues found during the build have been found by me. The framer was AWFUL. I will name names at the end of all this because I wouldn't let this guy frame a birdhouse. Srtucturally it's good and strong, but these guys don't know how to use a tape measure or read plans. The other subs have been pretty good, electrical, boarders, mudders/tapers, finishing carpenter, cupboards, counters, tiles.....the plumbers took it upon themselves to switch the en-suite tub around...so that got switched, but otherwise everything appears good. (and ya, I found that too...not the "foreman")

The foremans job is talking with the home owner so the company owner doesnt have to be bothered while hes on permanent vacation.

Unfortunately its so busy here that if you mention that a sub trade made a mistake or needs to fix something there bill either goes way up for an "extra" or they say screw you and go to another job.

Everyone gets paid by the job now, ram it together as fast as possible, get paid and on to the next one.

Another problem is our crappy lumber, A framer can spend a lot of time straightening walls etc and as soon as the lumber starts to dry it goes where it wants to. Any good lumber we have here in Canada gets exported.

It never fails! Ya always have that one trade that makes it a nightmare! Mine was the garage door guy of all things..... Still to this day when I have to push the remote five times to get the door open I scream ... Fawking global door!!

Place looks great! Love that part of the country! We looked at a ace out there once but it's just too far to Prentiss . I see you put just enough distance between the cave and the boss's house! Nice!
Congrats looks awesome enjoy!
