U know if I had a dual pivot I'd have bent box sides and bottom 5th damage

From the 2 hitting in off camber turns when parking in spots.

Have about 7-8 inches clearence normal

If my truck wasn't lifted 3 inchs then I could ext the hitchs to get more. But to have the trailer level that's what I have.

this is a very good point Tex, considering some of the places we tend to go into, i had that problem with my last truck , i had to adjust the pin height on my fifth wheel so that it gave me more clearance, i only had about 3 inches before i did it......and it was tapping the top of the box rails.

Well I found a good used 20k DSP hitch and bought brand new rails and bolt kit. My question to those of you that have installed them in the new style chev/gm (08') for example, did you have to use the fishing line to install te bolts in the frame? My kit did not come with one that's why I'm asking
Thanks

Hey guys not to jump the thread or nothing, but what does a guy have to all grease on the hitches? I now the top of the hitch, but anything else? I just got my fifth wheel hitch and got it all put together with rails in. I noticed that nothing was greased. I am going to pick the camper up end of april. Any tips or anything would be great. First time owning a fifth wheel.

I use a lube plate in between the plate and the pin box (about $12) and grease the one grease nipple mine has and forward and back pivot on my reese.

Ya, me too. Grease makes a hell of a mess. I've been using the same plate for 3 years now, and it still looks like new.

Lube plate all day, it's just a teflon disk that is installed on the kingpin of your trailer, been also using mine for 3yrs.
