I see your location says Castlegar. A buddy was over that was a week ago and said its the best riding he's done all season
Based on last weekend, it is missing at least 3', maybe closer to 4'. Probed 5' at 5500 ft. lots of trash still showing in the blocks and lots of rocks still sticking out. When we were down 2 weeks ago, I rubbed one when sidehilling but got lucky and no damage. Gonna be an early year for the Elk Valley if it doesn't start stacking up.

Been a funny year. In Jan there was green grass on the lawn and it was looking bleak. This was a pic from my buddies yard on Jan 13. Snow up top is finally there though now. Hopefully it keeps coming.

Anyone out this weekend? lots of iron in town so someone must of been out. FSA just posted for the groomer guy that is grooming tonight to check how the lower Morissey staging area is holding up and how high the snow is compared to the Coal creek staging area.

Is Coal Creek open yet? I know when I was down their last the Morrissey lot and lower trail to the toll hut were sketchy then for snow

East of the Rockies and west of the rest.
Staged Coal Creek yesterday and today. My 155 tunnel 3 inch 163 Axys had trouble staying cool on the trail. Trail was smooth but hard. There is ok snow to be found but any sunny or wind affected snow is pretty hard and crusty. N and NE aspects in the trees is where we found decent snow in the blueberry. Didn't venture any further than that area.

Went out and did a few days at fernie last week, snow was decent in the trees and shaded sides, had a crust but once broken threw it was a rodeo

Did the river run the second day left at Corbin, went to cutts cabin, then to Barnes ranch, and up river drainage to the notch, played there for a while and took pipeline back to tin shack and drive rail and ditch to Corbin

Good ride over all but a few wet casualties to the river, such a hot day a few of us might of even had a little heat stroke, could of rode in shorts, few creeks are opening up now on pipeline, spring is here, and if no snow soon, will be over soon

Found it in some old pictures, we use to stay there in March for a week, many memories good and costly, but never bad

That's a big long ride. How was the ride up the drainage to the Notch? Haven't been that way for two years now.

It was ok for myself, few others had a few words of dismay, but overall it was good, river was froze over for Most part and snow was fine, tried the south finger at the end of drainage but little to Harry for some..

Did that trip years ago with Chopper and his crew. What a chit show. Guy broke his steering post and another guy his throttle lever clean off. Had to use vice grips to pull on the throttle cable of his Cat to get out. Never seen a guy so mad in my life. Lol. No interest to do that route again. Sure depreciated the value of a few sleds that day.

Lots of play areas around barns and behind the mid way trappers cabin, few good areas to climb as well, we have wasted a full tank of fuel getting to notch and barley made it back in the past, lots of fun after a big dump.. had a few with water wings almost needed, but such a hot day it cooled us off, anyone know does the trail behind half way going north to pipeline or does it come out at the rain gauge/flathead intersection?

So is it looking like spring riding conditions now? Anyone in town seen much for fresh come down? The forecasts seem to show some pretty minimal snow and pretty warm.
