Don't see any other tracks...assuming Trev is still in a tree well somewhere back there?

Hopefully one of these years my talent will match my cockiness....

Ha, trev couldn't get off work, unfortunately he missed it.

Great morning at Coal Creek.

We were the first ones up the Burn across the drainage from the new cabin and then we hit the south side of the ridge behind the cabin. The first meadows had a few tracks from yesterday, but as we moved on, the meadows were virgin...best ride of the year for sure.

There is a layer of slush under the powder that made things difficult when stuck. The sun was out at times, but it was -5 so the snow was still great. Might have to stick to the North and East facing slopes over the next few days if you want the best pow.

Trail was in great shape but there were a lot of vehicles parked at various locations when we came down...lots of peeps skipping off work.

Amazing day. Rode back side of rolling hills. 3-4' pow everywhere . Was best day of year by far. Snow got heavy after lunch but we were almost outta gas by then. Trail was icy in morning, slushy coming out. Trail is in great shape all things considered. Great ride.

im not sure might be some open water that's tough to get across on pipeline. It's been few years since I've been that way. Do not let the parking lots discourage you. Once you get to new cabin the snow is great! Trail is in great shape from coal creek.

How far up Coal Cr are you driving to stage?

We were first up this morning and parked just past the bridge at KM 43.5...truck with deck and two sleds...we were the furthest up. Some people with two place trailers were parked at the old staging area (KM 37?) just before the bridge, but I would say you would want to drive to at least KM 39 if you have a trailer and as far as km 43.5 if you just have a truck. Someone drove to KM 44 yesterday but looks like they got stuck in the right hand ditch.

Trail from 43.5 is in great shape.

We drove to km 44 on Saturday and the truck broke through the crust. A little stuck but the big diesel pulled me out. Apparently, I owe him one night stay, a steak supper, and a guided trip around Elkford! With friends like that, do I need any enemies?

Seems good to me, hard to believe people can be fussy about snow when winter was doomed and over for most people a couple of days ago!
