Friday Feb 3, Rode Belle, 8"-1' of fresh, not too many tracks yet. The burn was pretty much untouched with 1 1/2 - 2' powder. Took a few pictures to rub it in a bit. Had my girlfriend out on her first mountain experience, she had fun and rode great. Curtis thanks for the sled, worked great.

Saturday Feb 4, Rode Renshaw, Pretty tracked out by the cabin, but good conditions further out. Had a good day, most areas the same as bell, easy to find untouched areas. Totally bluebird sky and nice weather all weekend. Trails were great, better than I was expecting. DSC_0573.JPG DSC_0591.JPG DSC_0491.JPG DSC_0527.JPG DSC_0534.JPG

You got a new girlfriend or is Fernie not in the mountains???????
Sorry I will clarify for you, our first trip to the alpine. Her first trip on the hills was in Fernie. If we had more time in Fernie we would of tried to hit the alpine. Next time im sure you will take us there. :D

Thanks for the clarification Ron.

The alpine in the eastern Kootenays isn't for the faint of heart! Our mountain tops aren't enyway near flat enough in most places.....just saying.

Ron: One day behind you at Belle and Renshaw. Now we know where all the huge trenches came from in the burn. Trail to Renshaw was awesome, nice steady 50 mph all the way up and even down on Sunday. Snow was decent but note to Barry: You are failing miserably at teaching your trees to duck.

Working on getting your doors, see ya next trip.

Up Lucille today with Hotrod and CrazyWheeler, pounded out! Went right to the back and dropped into Billy Goat. Untouched, but only 6-8". But it was an adventure, played along the way. But if you are planning on dropping into the Butterfly the chute is very, very icey and should only be accessed by advanced riders, also the secondary and third chutes are rutted up big time. So just a heads up if you're thinking of going down there! Higgins.

was up Lucille today, cleaned cabin, chipped the snow and ice off deck. not much untracked there.
Need some help to push the snow off the roof at Renshaw cabin if anyone is interested in helping. I can go up Friday or Sunday. should only take a couple guys on the roof 10 min. or so to knock it down.
