I have two colonies close by!One isn't bad but the other is just a bunch of sh..heads!They've been bailed out by the other colonies a few times and Nilsson Bros. saved their asses a couple times too!I wouldn't touch anything that a hut trades off that's for sure!

as for the colonys burndown, we were told they were not to happy with the deeres this year... they brought a red one out at the end of harvest and simpson flew down to discuss a future deal... no word yet what they have done

I have a strange question for you guys!I have to fire up my batch grain drier!The thing I want to know is I usually have my JD 4020 hooked to it (540 pto) and what I want to do is to hook my JD 4640 (1000 pto).The thing is I figure the 46 will use less fuel because it will be idled back compared to the 4020 that's tapped out all day and the 46 has a cab and better lights compared to no cab and 2 work lights!What I want to know is about what rpm on the 46 should give me close to 540 rpm!Horsepower isn't an issue because the 4640 still dynos over 185 hp with 7000 hours and the drier is 500 bushel.I could kinda guess by the sound of the fan screaming on the drier but looking for a bit of a short cut!Thanks!

Just checked out grain prices on the Viterra website and there is a link to a combining Guiness world record for the "Harvest For Kids" program. The record was set in Saskatoon with 249 combines. Funny thing was the were a pile of Deere and Case combines in the field with a few New Hollands. Out of the small amount of yellow there were 2 broke down before they made the 1/4 mile run. Not to impressive. Lol.

not sure if these are the same but my 4440 at 1200 rpm runs the pto at 540. this is how i run a 10 inch swing auger with it. works better than screaming the motor.

Listening to screaming works and is cheap if you don't blow anything up. When I had an air seeder with a motor on the back I bought a portable digital tachometer from NAPA, it was easier than running back and forth to the tractor to see the fan RPM. You will only need it once so maybe you have a mechanic friend or neighbor close, if not I have one in my toolbox!

sold a few loads of springwheat today across the line at sweetgrass, is there anything i need to know for the inspection guys, i was told no dyed fuel, that they check at the boarder and need a overweight permit for the 1/8 mile i need to drive... but hopping the price difference will make up for it
