Ok cool. I still have no idea what I want for the name. Maybe someday I'll have to swing by the decal shop and see if they would have any ideas

I've only had my new sprayer 2 months and it already has 420 hours on it. One farmer in our area trades his every year with half those hours. I guess I should trader in.

Everyone down our way is spraying canola for the cabbage seedpd weevil. Cant find any in my yellow mustard as it is in full bloom. Just read on the internet that they don't bother yellow mustard. Looks like an early christmas present. Lol.

Our seed rep said there are areas around lethbridge that have 90-100 seedpod weevils per 10 sweeps. They say to spray if its over 30.
snopro, why did you choose mustard over canola? more money? haven't grown mustard for about 15 years I bet.

For me it makes more sense right now. I have it contacted for $20/bu. Seed is $1/lb. The preferred harvest method is straight cutting so I save a swather operation and it is almost impervious to bug problems. Flea beetles are a small threat and diamond back moths are the only real threat as hoppers and most other bugs don't like the taste or the prickly tough pods. I worked it out on paper with $13 canola and a 25 bu mustard crop works out to a 50-55/bu canola crop depending on that extra spray operation for bugs. It would be nice if you had a herbicide option other than Edge but it saves spraying in the spring if weather gets you behind.
