Speaking of haying, what's everybody think of the new round balers? The old 664 is showing it's age and thinking about getting a new baler.

I like the new holland other than the gears that drive the dimple rollers. I've had to replace mine 3 times in 17000 bales.

The jd is good, other than the price.

Massey ferguson/Hesston is what I want but, their even pricier than jd.

Don't know much about the Vermeer, don't know anyone who has one.

What's your thoughts

Have 18,000 bales on our deere 566 and It's still an awesome baler. Have replaced all chains every year, and rebuilt the pickup at about 15000 bales. Also had the slip clutch on the pto go out on us last year, but hey... its done lots.

One thing I like about the new holland balers is that to get the bale away from the door, they have a ramp instead of a kicker like the deere. The kicker just wrecks bales we have found.

And I'm not sure about the rest.

I got the same baler as underdog, biggest POS on the farm, I have no clue why, it just is, when it goes (if it goes) it's good, otherwise its not a baler I would get again, 2nd Deere baler that's useless. I'm not really a Deere fan anyway... Maybe that's the only problem lol, when I get a new one it'll be case or challenger

The neighbor just got the 568 (I beleive) and I watched him bale for a while. Out of 20 bales made, 4 bales had the net wrap coming off after the kicker got done with them.

Wifes uncle just got the new massey. Price was 58000 smackers. He had to pay 30000 difference on his 08 massey baler. That's crazy.

Jd is the lowest for hp requirment and dry weight is the lowest. Good or bad, I don't know.

We unhooked our kicker so it doesn't do that anymore.

1 I'm a case fan, 2 I bale for the neighbor who has a case, and it just seems to work better. A little better system IMO
And as for challenger I haven't really heard any bad things about them, Every one I talk to would never get anything else even after having a Deere.

I love going to tractor pulls. Told Dad we should take the 9620 there and pull the sleigh all the way around the track! :D
