Standing wheat was testing 23% here today at 4:00! FML

**** really, I'd be going if my wheat would test that.

Neighbor was putting wheat in the dryer at 32% the other day.

This may go down in my books as the worst fall yet.

And in two days from today in 2016 we received a snow that prevented anyone from turning a wheel for the rest of the year.

12 so they were rolling

Cargill had to shut the crusher down in Camrose due to lack of canola.

They will take any canola they can get under 14% and will dry.

Heard rumors of $11.99/ bushell.

I’m kinda curious how the h@ll you can even get 32% wheat to combine?? Does it not sound like the rotor is going to come out the side. The straw would be so tuff you couldn’t bale the windrow behind chopper

environment canada is in eastern canada they wouldn't know there ass from a hole in the ground about the weather in western canada

yep same for me. NASCAR in Phoenix first week of November then Hawaii last week of November. Starting to get nervous

hey guys, was speaking to my Indian colleague last night about the state of peas/lentil imports from Canada and thought I would give you a heads up for planting next year (you may already know this). It appears nothing is going to change from status quo at this time as India is entering into elections next year and current gov is flexing its muscles for votes in the rural areas of India by supporting local agriculture. They have announced that the borders will not be open to Canadian peas/lentils and depending on who gets elected this will not change for the foreseeable future. I guess time will tell.

Been chiseling away at the wheat that past couple days.

Coming off at 18.5% today.
Straight into the dryer.

Canola testing 12.9%

Did 300 acres last 2 days 18.5 to 19.5 when we downsized got rid of dryer, tAbernack! so i been using flagro diesel heaters,so far been working well 2 2.5 point every 48hours wheat with all the snow and rain is a rough #2 but 15 to 16 protien running high 50s low 60s have not had dry grain yet this year

Canola is testing 16.5-17 around here. Ive been taking it straight to the dryer and then to the crush plant. Green straw is making life quite interesting.

I’d like to thank you for the info/heads up but that info wasn’t what I wanted to hear

I can appreciate where you are coming from. Not that it helps most of you, but approx 7 years ago we shipped the first containers of organic peas to China. Prior to that our main customer for Canadian peas was the USA (organic). Therefore, we have been working extra hard to develop alternative markets. As a result, we have been shipping a fair bit non sprayed conventional peas to China as well. Would love to increase that volume over time.

Lets talk weather. So I've had some time on my hands the last 3 weeks and took it upon myself to email a couple local TV weather personalities. My question was simple. Do you see any weather models for this fall where we will see a change from rainy, snowy, cold weather to more milder and drier conditions like a Indian summer would bring? All of them get back to me within an hour and give me the 5 day extended forecast and that's it then wish me luck with my harvest? I guess they don't know I can get that on TV 8-9 times in the morning, twice at lunch and twice at supper? Nobody wants to stick their neck out I guess?
