I recently programmed a bunch of 82HP radios that my buddies in the US bought with chirp. When I do there is a pop up stating the firmware is out of date and programming could cause an issue. The programming took fine. Anyone know how to update firmware on a 82 or 82HP model radio? Trying to figure this out and Google is not being my friend.

http://baofengradio.com/endownload.asp?BigClassName=Programming Software. I use this site for problem software issues, quite a bit of it is in chinese. Software works great though. There are firmware updates for the digital radios that usually end up screwing the radios.

What you saw was an update for chirp not the 82HP. None of of the Baofeng have updatable firmware. The chirp updates when there are new radios added . If your radio is already in chirp like the 82HP you don't need to update.

So basically just ignore the warning. It just scares me when it pops up.

Anyone know where a guy can order a new charger for a Baofeng radio? Have a UV-82HP and the charger called it quits. Adapter model 480-10050-E.S

Jazuz, joined a ham facebook page. They definitely are not jazzed about all the improper use of unlicensed chinese radios.

I dont know whats the big deal. They dont put out that much power. Now my Galaxy 88 I had im my truck made power, tied to a 100w linear, that radio would get out.
