Does anyone use an additive to completely remove ethanol from their fuel? Does the 94 octane from chevron contain any ethanol?
I'm not aware of any additive that will do that. You can separate the ethanol from the gasoline using water to absorb the ethanol and then drain off the water/ethanol mix which is heavier than the gasoline so it settles on the bottom. The problem is that you are then left with a low octane pure gasoline (because of the removal of the high octane ethanol component) so you will probably require octane boosters. Also there is a problem of what to do with the water/ethanol mix as it is corrosive to a lot of plastics, etc.
I would suspect that Chevron 94 octane fuel contains ethanol in order to get the octane at that rating because non ethanol premium pump gasoline is 91 octane.
