No takers on the x so it might as well use it

It is by far the best analog mountain mountain bike in my fleet... lol
Super hot that day on the climb. vvv

You should look at doing the bafang chainring adapter and smaller 38 tooth chainring on that ultra motor. Takes over 1lb of rotating mass off that motor and gears you down a bit. Easier to ride on the tight stuff, makes it more peppy down low and will extend the motor life big time. 38 tooth chainring is about 1.2oz, the stock steel stamped 44 tooth is like 1.5 lbs or 24oz if I remember correctly from when I swapped mine on my last e bike

Thanks for that. I screenshot that recipe and I’ll check that out.

The new 1x12 drivetrains have the same low and high gear ratios as the old 3x9 systems.

I swapped out the steel bafang chainring on my fat e conversion, definitely worth it.

so you setting the land speed record this weekend Don?
thought you had a tuned pipe on it?

I have a few pk-80 builds...
This unit too fast for me now...
20201221_141713.jpg

Tuned pipe for the fat tire since it needs alot of help spinning the big rubber...

I built 5 of them that year...lol...

I think it was 1954 when the Soviet Union wanted too mobilize its population so they design this pk-80 for folks too bolt into there pedal-bikes...

They sold 12 ish million in the first year,,, China jumped on board a few years later,,, I think they had 80 or 100 million then they started mass producing them after that...

$150 per kit if We buy bulk,,, there's been 100$ of millions made over the years...

They were $12 back in the day,,,that was alot of money back then...

2 ish hp since they were built for Longevity,,, it was only a few years ago when they re-designed them with electronic ignition,,, they were able too pull off 2.89 hp with better timing...

$500 too $750 bucks gets a person a 5 ish hp unit...

$1000 too $1200 move it into the 7 hp,,, a bit of fine tuning can bump them up too 9 ponys...

The super tune 2-strokes are 11 too 17 hp...

The race engines are between 22 too 27 hp...
Custom made jugs/ head/ tuning domes/ ported jug and spot welded dowel crank ...

The trick is fuel-mix and jetting,,, the smell of tin is in the air when running hot ... Ha...

That's alot of engine for a 30 lb pedal-bike..

The world record for a Super Charged 50cc is just shy of 150 mpr at Bonney Vill Flats

If a person is into a fun hobby at a frugal price point in the quest for speed then this hobby is for you...

A person can gear them down for creek bank hole-shots or gear them long for speed...

Lets Ride

I'm running a camper on the sled truck for getting away from society this year again, had a camper van the last 5 years.
Heading up to top of Panorama this afternoon for some Alpine ebike fun.

That looks like a wicked area for sure,,, it was all up hill today even with the decents...
20240831_152715.jpg

I mucked around 45 ish miles,,, 1 wrong turn/ ( correct turn veer'ed me off course by 12 miles...

Best 12 mile wrong turn I've taken in years....

After a long day cranking and hiking the drops and climbs i swung inti ice district...
20240831_201116.jpg

Kind of a somber evening with the tragic loss of one of Our hockey Legends as well as a cyclest family...

Johnny Gaudreau and his brother were involved in a bicycle auto accident that claimed both of their lives...

Sad...

The wood train trestle is at Camrose,,, I didn't see the old ski hill jump,,, mind you alot has changed there over the years with all the cross country ski trails...

It's a work climbing up and down the rolly's,,, the ebike folks have to get a good run too climb a few of the hills ...

It's beautiful back there

It may have been taken down, I grew up on an acreage close to that trestle. Lots of memories riding in that area.
Trails going south lead to what we used to call happy valley. Used to be a couple of motocross tracks and miles of single track riding.
