eMTB Cranking the Red Deer trails today

^^^ One thing about e-assist ,,, super easy getting over log jams

20 ish kms
- 4 c
Zreo wind's
90% bush trails
A few Cofffeee Vokacheeno's breaks
Blue Skys
Zero Users once the group passed
Great day too be out
Used 2 power bars
A smooth workout
Cranked a few Climbs analog
1 hour prepping too ride
Toasty warm and dry

A fat tire group of 200 were doing a community ride...

Found them at the West Side pub

Getting the gear ratio too power demand figured out

Lots of slow single track...
Draws and whoops threw the tributarie crossings...
plenty of deer Moose wondering about...
Trails in excellent condition...
Open for fats and wide 29'ers
Super smooth with fast flowing...
Mind on task in the S bends...

Next up is:

Calgary,,, Bragg Creek,,, K-Country,,, Canmore...

The High Artic cold weather boots are a must,,, ill order some battery power heated snowmobile gloves...

Dress warm and giver,,, endless single track trails everywhere,,, ended up use-ing e-walk on a few climbs,,, dam scary on the down hill frozen tree root sections...

Studded """low-pressure:""" fat tires offer some pretty good traction and a plush ride,,, 3.6 too 4.2 psi for my all in weight catagory with gear and all...

Squish tire side-walls is what a person is looking for...

Well worth the efforts

4000 + & - gains and drops
4 coffee breaks
98% single tracks
4 ish hours prep & ride time

Not on my skinny wheel ebike, made a set of Spikers for my e fatty. Used 3/8" pan head wood screws screwed from the inside in every second knob. Lined tire with an old tube so the heads don't rub on the road be filled with air.
Incredible traction.

I'm running studds on my fats

^^^ Cake Eat'ers 27.5x 4.8's,,, limited stud edition...

There ok,,, nothing like the 45 North's vvv

512 studs per tire,,, a bit of Cranking power too keep them moving 26× 4.5's
Its wizer too run them on fat-e-bikes since theres some rotating mass too them

Just under 4 lbs with complete wheel..

Light weight CT/S in the summer month's,,, there cheap...

I could run sipp'ed low pressure rubber tires this time of year but I like the safety factor of studds on the icey down hill runs on the frozen single tracks...

I had too jump ship twice on my last ride,,, every down hill run on the River Valley trails start off easy,,, then they turn into the nasty's once a person gets back there... lol

Full lock-ups and still motor-ing along too fast... Ha...
