Well - had bit of late start today but headed up to Blue lake also today - headed up short cut into Blue - not much fresh - tracked out - Hmmm! Headed down into lower meadows - D@#M ! tracked out - not much fresh ! headed through meadows and into some usually untouched spots - Holy Crap - tracked out ! Down into some ravines and valleys - tracked out ! Holy cow - Back to Blue lake cabin and conversed with WB - said his riding partners headed back down due to undesirable snow conditions ! Guess I missed the Trio by half hr or so ! We had lunch - then headed toward Blue lake - found bit of fresh through trees and played on few slopes ! we headed back toward Brown pants and played in around there and then weather started to hit - started snowing hard and we headed back toward cabin due to poor visibility ! Was snowing pretty hard when we left - hopefully tomorrow be a better day ! Trail in decent shape - last 2k on owls side is getting pretty shy on snow - might be last weekend for driving from main parking lot!

What can we say, we're quitters! A morning of whoops burnt us out but not WB ! Those odd patches of untracked stuff just wasn't enough to keep our interest. We call it the Saskatchewan Farmers Syndrome, you just can't keep us happy, that and we're spoiled! Next time bud!

Dam I missed every single good puffy snow flake 😂

And yes they will be dragging the lots up after this weekend I would think, on a side note
They are going to open up bigger 2 km lot for owlshead, or supposed to anyways

My wife and I rode in Sicamous going and coming from Squamish. Met ol' gimpy standing around the Tim's in Revy! We met Wild Bill on Sunday the 19th and was impressed with one of his tours around the Blue Lake cabin. He knows where the snow is!

Very crusty and really f*cking thick crusts! Had to use the saw to cut blocks for tunnel cooling on the way up and they broke away about 6-8" thick (couldn't penetrate the crust with the boots???). The Blue Lake area is definitely blessed with hero snow for awhile.

Our earlier ride(s) on the 12th and 13th may have been some of those tracked up areas that Sherm found. We had a great time in some cut blocks, meadows and creeks and we didn't leave much. We did Owls one day and Blue the other and it is a good thing we ride the east Koots and can get into the trees because the open areas had very poor visibility.

We were just sitting there looking at the hill in front of the cabin and Bill came up and started chatting. So he asked if he could show us around. Can't refuse a chance like that! It was a good tour and he has lots of terrain information that he loves to share.

Yes, it was nice to chat again. Look after yourself and get better for next winter!

Hahahahaha.......................Didn't even run the cookers. Heated some dry ribs on the stove in the cabin. None of the days were hard riding so we weren't really hungry.

I will say it was nice to see the constablatory out at the staging areas checking things out. Both days we came down from Blue, there was an RCMP member there checking on the activity. It would be nice to see them more active at all the staging areas at the end of the day.

On Sunday, no trailers up and trucks required chains at Owls Head. More gravel at Owls than at Blue. Blue was great with no gravel (not much snow cover so it could go fast. Noticed that the upper lot was cleared so it won't be long.

Yep, go find some criminals, or go get some donuts. Leave sledders alone!

It was the criminal element I was referring to. I don't consider the RCMP poking around checking things out to be government control. If there was a presence at staging areas there would be less theft and the dudes packing up a suitcase full of booze would also be less inclined. Doesn't impress me to have sledders coming down under the influence and continuing to drive down the highway. Those dudes have to give their head a shake!

I agree. Nice to know your truck will have windows in it when you come down.
In the Sicamous RCMP defense they stopped me riding from house to riding area and gave a warning. They could have ticketed if they were hassling sledders.

Since the province stuck us with this ridiculous registration tax grab BS it would be nice to see them in the lots a few times a month checking VIN numbers
