Polaris uses them to hold all side panels on. We also used them to fix race bodywork on race bikes so they do hold pretty good. Do you have a source? they tend to be spendy depending on where you get them from.

Sorry no pics but ill dig through my parts box and see if i have a few you could prototype with

Seen guys use rivnuts too. Not as quick as dzus but cheaper and tougher.

Evacuates more snow behind the sled instead of pulling it through under the tunnel. Less resistance on the track = more go go. Some claim it makes a big difference, but have not tried it personally.

Anyone, in particular skidoo, replace there rivits with dzus fasteners. Easy take off and easy on snow flap. Best of both worlds. If so post up a picture.

Daryl Baker's been doing this to his sleds for years unfortunately no pictures though. I think it does help with snow evacuation when you start trenching out. Give him a call at the shop 403-254-8686 he can likely hook you up with what you need.

I've run no snow flap before and only thing it did was make my sled over heat...lol

This is actually who I got the idea from :)
There is an auto parts shop on 16th ave, in Calgary, that has these in stock... can't remember the name or address though.

Had a guy that knows a little bit about Doo's "Kuster" tell me that in their testing they found that the sleds with a full flap would out climb those with shorter or no flaps. It's actually engineered to provide some flotation to keep the ass end up!
That's over and above the cooling issue. Also told me to keep the headlights on low and all the accessorys that draw power turned off in minimal snow conditions on the trail as the mags on the etech build a huge amount of heat into the motor.

Yea I am looking for the ones you'd find on the polaris side panels. Mostly they stock is the moroso ones that need a blade screw driver.

which ones does baker use?

Anyone get any pictures of this yet? Trying to imagine it with the moroso style and not seeing how it would work with the large spring and plate...

I trimmed my snowflap and the only thing I noticed was that I didn't have to worry about guys sneaking up behind me on the trail...everybody kept their distance, big snow and ice chunks getting whipped back, I'll be leaving the flap alone on my new one
