Well I plan on buying a new sled soon I currently ride arctic cat. Hopefully not start a forum war here lol but I just can't decide Polaris axys or the new doo 850. I guess I'm asking is for opinions, problems the people have had with there sled, pros cons. I like trees and boondocking but also love a good pull as well.

Axys rmk all day long, if you are intrested in the skidoo i would wait a year or so let them figure out the bulkhead and belt issues. 850 motor seems to be awsome but for tree riding the axys is in my opinion is the best sled out there. Also could probably pick one up a few thousand dollars cheaper and easily get to the same hp with a few reliable mods.

I'm in the same boat, looking hard at a 2016 163" axys , there are some good deals on leftovers but they all seem to have the 2.6 track. I'm running a 3" on my xp and really like it

Only one good way to choose. Call up your local dealers and ride both. Then you can make the best decision. Happy Riding!

Check out the Doo 850 threads. Stay clear of the 850 until they get that sled sorted out.

The 850 will out perform a stock axys in a straight hill climb contest. However, the chassis doesn't feel as stable as the Axys and it is having big issues with eating belts, weak bulk heads and weak chain case. If your looking at an Axys there is 2 more items i would highly recommend adding after you buy one. First, a jaws or SLP pipe is a must. wakes the top end up big time. Second, a camso track in either the 3" or the new 2.8". The stock track is ok, but nothing like what Cat and Skidoo have. I have driven both and would still buy another axys, even tho it takes a bit to set them up.

850 all the way. Destroys the Polaris in every category.

Great feed back guys, leaning towards axys, the issues doo is having with the 850 make me nervous to drop 15k on one.

Photo is a little deceiving with a fish eye lense, I'm on a bench and was only a small local drainage with no terrain trap at bottom, but fair enough if need to armcharm everyone else

Somewhat offtopic but was the axys a huge improvment from your pro?I think my pro is going to be a right off so I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the extra cash on an axys or spend 7-8k on a leftover/used pro

If your comparing stock to stock... No. its not that much better. it is lighter and has better side hill characteristics. however, a pipe and a new track makes this axys 20% better. the stock track is horrible. The jaws pipe is a true 10hp and wakes the sled up big time. if i were you i would look for a left over 16 axys 163 2.6, and put a pipe and a camso 162" 2.8. So, a new 163 rigth now is 10,999 in edmonton, plus 1400 for a track and 600 for a pipe and 400 for drivers. you get a wicked sled for the money spent.

The picture above with the 165 Doo ahead of the 174 PoPo is accurate until you change the track and put a pipe on the axys. then the axys will be ahead by a length or 2.
