it will soon be to late. If the west doesn’t quit fighting amongst it selfve’s (brexit, republicans vs Democrats, liberals vs conservatives etc etc) the west is done. Just take a look at today’s skyline’s of Saigon and Hanoi. Vietnam is a one party communist country. I have lived the booms of Calgary in the 70s and Vancouver’s two booms. The development in Vietnam now and over the last decade makes anything I’ve ever witnessed any where look like a recession. They built a six lane freeway thru Saigon in a year. Hand out eviction notices and started building one month later. Financed primarily from China except for the new bullet train, the Japanese are building that. I’m not saying I like what’s going on or I agree with it. It scares me to see this kind of progress in Asia and we can’t build a puny little pipeline east or west from Alberta in decades. Our way of life and our freedom is in grave jeopardy if something doesn’t change. At my age I’m not to worried about myself it my grandkids that will be holding the bag. Jim Mattis’s YouTube video on the American experience makes a lot of sense when you see what is going on in Asia

If you think they’re so great, you should move there and join them. Their countries are filthy, polluted cesspools. Their economies exist because they enslave their workforces, pay starvation wages and steal technologies from other countries. They are not creative, or innovative and they set the bar when it comes to being corrupt and genocidal.

Those countries are a house of cards. They have economic strength because we choose to do business with them. Their economies can be quickly brought to their knees, as the Trump trade embargoes showed. After a few months, the Chinese came crawling back and made a deal. They can’t feed themselves, don’t have enough domestic energy resources, and as recent events have shown, they can’t be trusted to tell the truth or manage a domestic health emergency without begging the rest of the world for basic items like surgical masks or gloves.
And Singapore is a city state, smaller in size than the city of calgary. It is a banking centre and IT hub. It produces little else.

I really envy you. I wish I could live a carefree life and have an answer for everything. My recommendation is to don't change a bit. Don't Worry Be Happy.
Case in point. It's cost me $325 to buy a toaster that wasn't made in China. Yours is made in China and cost $20. I know that because I went with out toast for 3 years before a came across toaster made in Germany. Alot of your rant above is true and you still have a Chinese toaster. Now that's what I call a worry free life still!
