Theres a plate in the pump that affects fuel delivery...The 98.5 dodge diesel imo is the golden (very hard) one to find, first year of Xcab door and last year of 12 valve....the vp44 was really the only weak link on the 24V (other than having 12 more valves to adjust)....good luck with your search...

I have a 97 12 valve that I will sell in 2014 (3 years from now..)

I hear the mud boggers want these engines. Mine only has 199k on it
in three years will have 220K on it ...
that plate is geting done in May ...
$200 for the labour for a $5 part mmmm
the guy that is doing it said it is like night and day
