Hi all, Just thought I'd share a little info i found out ..
If you dont want to buy the proper tools to take off your primary or compress your helix then this thread is for you.

If you take out the primary bolt, pour some water down the hole, then put some teflon tape on the threads of the primary bolt, thread er back in and pop! off comes the primary..

If you want to reinstall your helix without sing the skidoo spring compressor here's an easy trick..If you had an 08 or early 09 with the black plastic primary adjuster..first call your dealer and get the updated adjuster, then take your plastic one, cut off the top of it, take out the locking nut, then get a piece of 8" long 1/2" all thread, put that through the black piece with a nut on the end, thread that into the secondary, then grab your spring and helix put those in place..you should a few inches of the all thread sticking out of the end of the helix, now get a big washer and another nut and start threading! Then once its in far enough you can get the bolts into the back of the helix and take off the DIY spring compressor...
I know it's a ghetto solution but it was free as I had all this stuff lying around..
Hopefully this helps someone else!

Yeah it turned out pretty good, a good use for a useless adjuster haha!

Great thread! I think I'm going to have to try this. Any other ideas for homemade XP clutch tools??

Here is one I made for changing the helix on my 2010 summit. It grips the inside of the secondary shaft. I was considering doing a small production run if there was enough interest.

Jeez that puts mine to shame, at least put some duct tape on it or something!!
So how does it grip the inside of the shaft? Does that one end flare out under pressure and holds itself inside the shaft?

Thats right, the one end expands when the nut is tightened and makes a compression fit inside the shaft. The hole in the all thread on the other end is to put a bar or a screw driver in while the nut is tightened. Once it is secure, the sleeve slides up and the nut then compresses it onto the helix. Now, I think all my duct tape is holding the bumper on my wife's car!!

Here is another one I just finished. It holds the top gear in the chain case in place while you remove the jack shaft. It also alines the jack shaft and the top gear for reassembly.

Here's what i used. Clamp in the vise and slip your clutch over top, crank the handle down with the bracket on the helix til pressure is realsed then reverse operation to access spring/ helix etc. I should mention this is for a REV button style clutch.
