Yes has always been that way Ron. Need to prove you are a farmer to get access to the marked fuel pumps. I think commercial fishermen get the break as well.
The requirement is related to road use. The govt term is “unlicensed” ….

Anyone can apply, as long as you have a legitimate use for it.

66 cents more for diesel right now, might as well just drive a gas pot.

All i know is that my facility is producing ~2 million liters per day, everyday of ulsd (the most we have ever produced). We have 2 million liters of storage space, its never full. We fill ~14 rail cars per day (~1.4mil liters), thats filling 24hrs a day and they cannot keep up. Company wants to fill atleast 16 a day. The rest goes out by truck. Roughly 15 super B's a day. The demand is there, no idea where the rail shipments go. The trucks are local.

I also do not get the fuel mileage using UFA diesel. Seems my truck regens more.

Ditto. Doesn't matter the truck, they seem to get worse fuel economy and the engine seems louder to me at idle? Some Howes fuel conditioner helps though. Regardless I have a UFA card for work so that's what the truck gets...

There is major diesel shortages in the US right now. Doesnt have to be, but we have retatds in charge of things..so is what it is.

Go buy an EV and plug it into a wind mill.
Biggest thing effecting Albertans right now is the NWR upgrader is not back up to full production yet and Shell Scottford had to have an unplanned shutdown. This combined with the Fuel shortages in the US is causing Diesel to skyrocket. THinking about trading the Cummins for a TRX as Premium is now far cheaper than Diesel

Every winter Diesel is always much more expensive than gas, the demad is much higher in winter, you have home heating oil which is kerosene a type of diesel fuel, people travel more in winter and JetA fuel used in most jet planes is basiclly Kerosene fuel it is a form of diesel ect. Once summer comes around you will see the prices more even.

Case in point: Yesterday, My UFA price per liter of diesel was at $1.8889 + GST
Today, its at $1.9419 + GST.
Monday, $1.9659 + GST.

Makes no sense!

I bet 10 of those b-trains head to the elk valley every day. Mines are hard on the diesel in these parts.
