Howdy folks, here is a good report for anyone coming out this weekend.
Monday Apr 5, Mcdonald: Well staged up in the Casstle area and took a rip back into the Mcdonald area. Not a single track and easily 1 and a 1/2 foot of fresh everywhere when we got back to the divide area. Fun plaing in any bowls, but the higher areas had some HUGE!!!!! Cornices and No go to that.
All in all a fun day. Any creak beds and crossings are starting to get a bit dicey for sure. Watch out for undersnow land mines as the snow pack is 5 feet max.
Tuesday Apr 6 Rolling Hills: Great conditions in the hillls and especially in the trees. Had lots of fun in little meadows and in the trees. Pretty much 8 inches to a foot of fresh in most areas. Definately not as deep as last Saturday and Sunday.
Wed Apr 7: Hidden, Secret, No Name ad rolling Hills. Snowed ALL DAY long,
but the biggest roblem today was the wind. Up high it was fierce thus blowing away the snow on the tops of ridges ( On top of secret the Cornices are massive and scary as are some in the rolling hills in a few of those gullies,
BUT my goodness their were pockets of 3 feet in some of the gullies we played in where their was tree coverage and no cornices formed. In most areas where the wind did not get at the snow we played in 8 to 10 inches.
The snow was soft and in the trees from the saddle in the rolling hills to the big cutblock we played in 1 - 2 feet. Supposed to snow all day today in that area and will go out tommorrow again into no name area as seeing no one except a few know where that one is it will be loaded, But the Rolling hills should be great as long as the wind does not wreak havoc today.
Watch out for any Cornice laden slopes, because as soon as it gets sunny KABOOM!!!!!!
Have fun and play safe!!!!!!! :d
