unions, teachers, unemployed, reserves, every lgbq person and a large female population that will vote for her because notley is a female

This other then the female thing I would like to hope.
Wife works at the College part time and it’s so ridiculous she tells me you can’t even talk to them about it .
They just see red or should I say orange if you even mention another opinion ?
The UPC need to do some town halls around these areas instead of just the comfort areas . IMO

i agree and they should be out campaigning now!!!

will they also revisit the Castle plan? Livingston? Porcupine Hills?

They sure as heck should. There was a clear lack of proper public consultation done in those areas as well (basically there was no input from anyone other than the multi-billion dollar foreign funded enviro-nazis). I'm pretty sure if it was brought to the Alberta courts they would rule in favour of overturning the creation of the parks. It's no different than the courts killing the Trans-mountain pipeline because of lack of proper consultation.

I would like to see the NDP not even have the chance to be the Official Opposition.
That would be fantastic bit don't count on it!! I am thinking we are going to see a minority government led by Kenney, he will get most of the seats in Calgary that went to NDP in 2015 because of the right wing vote split .There is going to be a dog fight for many other seats.

everything outside edmonton will be ucp... She will maintain a few seats in edmonton, and i suspect that's it.... Maybe retain a seat in lethbridge, and guess who that is!!! Nutley has pissed off many small towns, with shutting down coal mines, pissed off many farmers with their bill c7(i think that's it), they have pissed off many towns and districts with this bighorn thing, etc etc etc. Calgary will be booting any ndp seats that are there. Edmonton with the university and union headquarters and all the govt employees will be a different story, but i see mostly ucp getting the votes here.

I actually had the alberta party candidate come to the door the other night. I was impressed actually, that she took the time to go door to door in the freezing cold on her own, instead of hiring someone to do it.
It doesn’t change my vote but it may change others.

had a similar thing here when Mr Harper gave up his seat we had bob benzen (oil guy) versus a couple of suits .... talked to bob on the phone a couple of times had one of the suits come to the door for a chat ... right after i got home (hadnt had a chance to clean up yet .. jackass wouldnt even shake my hand said i was too dirty (i install underground sprinklers) went to a couple of the debates and i thought Bob was in over his head ...... well came to by-election day (oct) went to the polling station to vote Bob was standing outside shaking hands and the two suits were inside shaking hands.... Bob won by quite a bit

I wonder if TeeVee Tenia will win the peace River seat for Mandel's Alberta Party?

can't see Mandel getting in...
....don't get too cocky...he had a pretty good tenure in Edmonton

this is what worries me a bit...as much as many of us hate the NDP party, this Alberta Party hasn't yet gained much momentum but if they do, the right vote could get split giving us 4 more year of Rachel and Lying Shannon Phillips.....:fear::fear:

I hope your prediction comes true because this province cannot survive another four years of socialism nor can this country survive another four years of "Selfie, Cool Socks, Nice Hair, Cries At The Drop Of A Hat Boy"

will they also revisit the Castle plan? Livingston? Porcupine Hills?

go to the UCP website and find out who your candidate is.

i tried emailing mine directly, could not, so i sent one to info at UCP. See below.

i purposely worded my email so as not to lead them into what i would want there position to be, to get a straight answer on their direction. Not an answer they think i want to hear.

i encourage others to do the same. if they see enough voters asking these questions, it will force them to reply, or better yet, have a public position on it. ive heard that they will stop/revisit the bighorn plan. i want my MLA to commit to change(s) as well, so i can hold him accountable if he wins.

hah hah....i just heard a great idea...this is for you Lethbridge people....

go get some signs made that says in large words..."I'm a proven Liar!"
then everywhere Lying Shannon Philips posts her sign, place one of these close by.....
don't attach it to her sign because then you can be charged with vandalism...but if you place it in the near vicinity...nothing can be said.

I thought this was a brilliant idea!

Hahaha, so just heard Mandel failed to file some important papers in time, so he’s penalized 5 years to run again.... :

Alberta Party Leader Stephen Mandel is ineligible to run for election until 2023, but he says he will take the matter to court.

Mandel, who plans to run in Edmonton-McClung, is listed on the Elections Alberta website as being ineligible to run in an election for five years.

The list generally includes candidates who have failed to file their financial statements on time, said Elections Alberta spokesman Drew Westwater.

Mandel and five other Alberta Party candidates who are listed as ineligible can go to court and ask for a waiver, he added.

“While this is concerning, we also believe there is confusion about the actual due dates this paperwork is due to Elections Alberta. Because the penalties for late filing are so serious, we have also applied to the Court of Queen’s Bench to review and rule on this matter as soon as possible,” said Mandel in a statement Friday.

Alberta Party candidates Ali Haymour, Diana Ly, Amrit Matharu, Moe Rahall and Rachel Timmermans also each face a five-year ban.

Letters were sent in advance telling candidates the deadline to file, Westwater said.

“They get 10 days grace in the legislation after that date to file.”

Elections Alberta then had to file a report with the Speaker naming the candidates and outlining the penalties.

“In Mr. Mandel’s case, he did file it but he filed it late, so it’s a five-year penalty,” Westwater said. If financial statements aren’t filed at all, the penalty increases to eight years.

“Based on our interpretation of a July 2018 letter we received from Elections Alberta, we believe we have filed within the required deadline,” Mandel said.

Mandel plans to hold a news conference at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Premier Rachel Notley has yet to call a provincial election. According to the province’s fixed-date election rules, she could drop the writ for a 28-day campaign anytime between now and early May.

Letter from the UCP.

The stakes couldn’t be higher this month.

As of February 1, we are in the “pre-writ” period. There are no spending limits, and the NDP still controls government expenditures.

The NDP is going overboard with a partisan government advertisement campaign.

That means the NDP is spending $1.5 Million of taxpayer dollars - your money - to promote their failed record.

On top of that, the NDP is benefitting from their special interest friends attacking our party.

To counter this we must make sure our voice is heard, but we are up against some challenges.

February is traditionally the hardest month for political fundraising. It’s just after the holidays and after Albertans are nickel and dimed by government all year, this makes sense.

But this February we have to buck that trend.

We have to do everything we can to win this election.

That’s why I asked our election team what they need to counter the NDP and special interest spin coming out in the pre-writ period. The answer was simple but ambitious - we need to raise an extra $250,000 before the end of the month.

This will enable us to keep up our ad campaign, counter the NDP narrative, and continue to target battleground constituencies.

We have 153,000+ amazing members. I know we can do this.

Can you make a donation today to help us get there?

Together we can do this, and together we can beat the NDP.

Let’s start today by not letting up on the gas and getting to our $250,000 goal.

Sincerely,

Erika Barootes
