We did a short mostly road ride yesterday near McLatchie/ Harvey Pass. At 7,000’ elevation I probed 65cm...down at our staging area it was around 20cm.

It’s still pretty thin out in that area.

Going to Revy in 10 days and unless it dumps, I don’t think I’m going to risk riding locally before the trip.

It was a weird day that started out with towing a seized up doo, then we tip toed into some meadows that I know of. It was a beautiful day with the sunshine and great temps but we really need some snow. At lunch time we probed 60cm of sugar snow where we stopped, it's pretty scary travelling through the backcountry right now in my opinion. Other people may feel otherwise as I counted 17 vehicles between the quarry and main staging area at morrisey im sure someone will post there findings!

1st ride of the season. Lots of snow after yesterday's storm but no base at all. Lots of open creeks. We had a blast but played very carefully. Time to get my annual membership tonight.

we took off at Morrisey. Yes they are grooming.I heard they will be working on the Doug Dean trail in the next few days. I am really looking forward to the next storm or two. Really glad I went out and I just bought my membership. The new wrangler's cabin is top notch

Hope there's some more snow in store for this week. Shane and I may rip down Sunday if so.

I added today's ride to the Fernie conditions thread. It was a good day but there was some damage evident in the staging area at the end of the day. Early season hazards, so be careful.
Are the creeks cross able now to go back to wrangler from the Corbin side doug? Might rip that way for a day trip soon. Still unloading on the Hwy by the yellow gates?

Pretty sure they are logging up Paige's draw again this year, so yellow gates is a no go for now anyways.

Any update on coming in from the Corbin side? Parking at the yellow gates yet? Might scoot down for a day between Christmas or new year if we get a chance

To the guy on the snowbike with a dead battery I ran into today. You were up Rainguage with two guys on sleds. One was a Skidoo XP. Can I have the tow strap I let you use back please. You said you would meet me at the Corbin parking lot. I waited for well over an hour.

Pounded today, snow is mediocre. Groomed only to rain gauge and trail was super rough past there.

Had a great day riding! Staged at the tin shack (it was a zoo). Rode very little trail or old tracks! Still a ton of untouched out there.

Did you head down the pipeline or the power line? Are they logging down the powerline?

Headed straight west from the shacks. Used a combination of the newly logged area, forestry road, techs exploration roads and drainages/trees. We had good conditions for getting around (enough snow for safe descents and set up enough for getting around). The key right now is getting elevation. Good snow depth and stayed cold enough up high that the snow is still good.
