Threads like this make me sick. For everyone that hates the cops and lumps them all into the same pile......go fist yourself. You dont hear anyone beaking about your profession of the chit job you have and how you do it. Sure not every cop is the sharpest knife in the drawer but do you think every doctor is perfect, every teacher, every nurse, every plumber, every rigger etc. We've all seen it in our lives where there's somebody who should not be what they are but we dont lump them all together in one group.

Bottom line of this thread........YOU KNOW THE LAWS, IF YOU BREAK THEM DONT B*TCH WHEN YOU GET CAUGHT AND BLAME THE COPS!!!!! They're just doing their job just like you do yours. Cops dont make the laws they just enforce them. The politicians we all elect are the ones that make and amend the laws (however stupid and ludicrous we think those laws are).

If its SO easy to be a cop and you think they do a chit job of it, go apply and lets see how good of a job you would do. As said before, its easy to complain about them and what they do when they give you a ticket but you will be the first one to complain when you need them yourself. Not every cop is gonna hack you for having a cracked windshield or tint but for some that is their job. Others go out there on the same days and while you are all curled up in your cozy homes safe and sound, they are out there doing their job keeping you and your property safe. If the unfortunate happens and say your sleds get ripped off or your house gets broken into, or your daughter gets attacked they do what they can within those same laws that you b*tch about now to bring the criminals to justice.

Sounds like a lot of armchair keyboard tough guys thinking they can do such a better job at it.....kinda like your sled will beat mine in a race cause it has 800hp. You can beak all you want on here but in the end every rational person knows your just an armchair keyboard tough guy too scared to come out and do the job yourself or show everyone your 800hp sled.

Truth is most cops are under trained and under paid so they take the easy route and do the coffee and donut thing all day....not all cops are bad or lazy but a good # of them are and make a bad rep for the rest....seriously what harm is a cracked window or a bit of tint on a law abiding citizens vehicle when there are drug dealers, pediphiles and theifs out roaming our streets?? The law abiding citizen is just the easy target for these guys which helps them justify their job.

Sorry about your long winded Rant but I had to many goals and to much ambition to settle for being an under paid cop....maybe if I was a little lazier I could have settled for this but maybe thats why when they pull my fancy truck trailer and sleds over that they can't afford I always seem to get a ticket....lol.

I usually stay away from the "heated" threads, however, I am not an officer I do have some friends who are. I also have friends who are doctors, lawyers, waiters, architects and complete slackers. That being said, at any moment any one of these people can do something really stupid OR really great. So let's focus on the mistakes. Who cares that my friend was being shot at by a psycho in Trolley Square (salt lake city) to protect the innocent people who were shopping? ps he got the bad guy, your welcome. He is clearly just an A-hole looking to give your overloaded truck a ticket.

Maybe I am a little ahead of the curve here in honesty, I am not perfect at my job. I do try hard though :d:d When I am perfect, I will walk on water, then I will no longer need you people. In the mean time, I am going to do my best raising my daughter and love life.....Now let's just fide our friggin sleds!!

Cops targeting.... this really want's to make me bring my hard earned tourisim dollars to B.C. Maybe when all the tourisim dollars dry up from people on a holiday they can increase your taxes in B.C. Enjoy your PST ... oh yeah HST:rant:

I am new to this sport(I mostly moto, not the issues with hauling) and as I acquire equipment, I do it legally. I drive a 92 3/4 ton ford with tow package so I will not put a sled deck in the back my two Yammie Mountain Max sleds are too heavy. Even though I am positive I and my truck could handle driving it. I have a two place trailer instead. It's a little more of a pain to deal with , but you don't see me on here complaining how unfair the laws are. If I decide to go with a deck I will get the appropriate rig for it. And yes I bought the propperly rated tires for the max towable rating of my truck even before I was towing sleds...see how easy it was to be prepared:d:beer::beer::d

I've said it before and will again  If they ever decided to run the private sector like the commercial side for rules and regs, that would be really interesting :d Alot have no clue and would put a serious dent in the pocket book. It would be a real eye opener :)

Just to clarify, I am not bashing the cops. I know there are good and bad. I just wish the good would not protect the bad, and wish they'd concentrate a bit more of their time on the real sleeze bags of society. I believe that we have to respect the office, otherwise there would be anarchy, but the bad apples are making it hard on the good guys.

It annoys me that people keep on saying "Cops should focus on the real criminals".

You don't think they aren't?

The DOT Officers have a specific job; they deal with Commercial, all other motor vehicles and safety.

Sherriffs in Alberta have a specific job; highway traffic enforcement

I have a close friend who is an RCMP member. Almost ALL of his work is dealing with complaints, thefts, impaired drivers, domestic disputes, motorvehicle collisions, fires, etc. etc. etc.

The way most of you cop bashers talk on here, no wonder you get tickets; you're not gonna argue your way out of a ticket by being a dick. And saying that the cops write tickets cause they're jealous of your toys? Gimme a break, cops aren't underpaid like they used to be.

I have been gone for a few days and holly crap has this thread exploded! I started this thread just to warn people with 1/2 tons (or any one over weight) that the law is cracking down! in no way did I expect this to become a job bashing (cop bashing) thread! come on guys! you brake the law....... take the ticket. just go weight yourself before you hit the road! I speed and I have tinted windows........I also take the ticket! but this was just a warning....no a bashing!

Personally, I hope they keep up the good work, and send all of the yahoo's back to Revy.....and NO, I'm not a cop!

well since im from the area and ic how the town promotes itself as a tourist attraction. and every yr we see cops looking hard to find the littles infraction to stop you and give ya a ticket. well imo that kinda gives ppl a bad taste in there mouth after traveling to the area just to have johnny do right waiting to ticket ya for what ever he can. now if they put as much effort into hunting real criminals as they do being traffic cops. id be happier. and we'd be happier to see all you yahoo's sled in your own province instead of tear and fawking ours up.
