Cataract/Etherington 2012/13

Honestly there is not enough snow down there.WE went to Etherington and there was maybe 4 inches in the parking lot,we drove down to Cataract and same thing.
We drove further south down towards the Old Man River and decided on a little road ride.
If you drive down there today I do promise you will be disappointed,we were!
It'll be a couple of weeks,maybe longer till this is ridable...

Well, we saw Daves comments but still held out hope for better results if we went further west.... it didn't get any better.

We did make significant progess with cleaning up the trail by chopping up 6 logs that crossed the trail and we removed lots of rocks, but the snow cover just wasn't there.

The last hill before the shale field is pretty much as far as we made it because it only had 4inches of loose snow over icey rocks and it couldn't be climbed without wrecking stuff. We did pull one sled up that hill by hand to take a look up ahead. However, there wasn't enough snow to shovel in the hole on the last climb, so it wasn't worth going any further and we turned around. In addition to the lack of snow, all 4 creeks were open.

These guys aren't afraid of a little work to get to the snow……….hell they'll even try to get there in July!!!

Was anyone out at Cataract this weekend? Picked up 2 2013 Summits yesterday and want to try them out. Snow mostly melted around Strathmore.
