It sure would be nice to get in there with quads to evaluate the trail conditions and begin cleaning up.I assume most if not all the trail bridges will be destroyed or at least badly damaged.Let us know if/when we can get in and get started.
I will be speaking with ESRD and the KTAG Group this next week. My hope is to have enough information to organize a trail clean up for weekends in December, assuming the bridge over Etherington Creek has been repaired. It sure would be nice to get in there with quads to evaluate the trail conditions and begin cleaning up.I assume most if not all the trail bridges will be destroyed or at least badly damaged.Let us know if/when we can get in and get started.
From what I personally viewed, I believe that Hwy 532 will be open by the time the snow flies as it appeared high on the west side that there are only a few rock slides crossing the grid, but a little more work down in the valley. You will not be able to proceed north of the 532 on Hwy 940, IMO, as the wash out just north of the intersection is vast. If 940 could be repair south of the Highwood House - the Hwy 40/541/940 intersection - over Etherington Creek, at least that one parking lot/drop off area would be accessible. If not, then it is my hope that ESRD would allow sledders to stage from the Highwood House parking lot.On the alberta 511 transportation web site it says that they expect 532 to be open for use mid november. Do not know how to post link from their site. Thought i read on there they expect 940 to he partially open but could not find it.
