In them hills.
Textron has a lot of cash for R&D

Will be interesting
Yup and they will be hungry for market share.

Which is awesome cause it will push the other manufacturers to be better.

Doo could of done it a few years back already but there to spineless to take a chance.. Now looking back at all the aftermarket guys that made a killing off them they even look more foolish.. Power to cat.. Let's hope it happens
That would probably make Polaris and Cat spineless to Fred? Boost works great on those mountain sleds as well but nothing from them either. Don't you agree?

I'm pretty sure what he means is Doo was way ahead with Xm t3. I also agree with a dedicated mountain division. As stated above the other two were so far behind just getting a machine to compete was more important. I do think today Polaris and cat are ahead with 2018 sleds there is lost trust in the 2018 850 no matter how much guys want to ride them. If a pump gas flat land to mountain turbo could exist I think it would. Yammie has done it with 4 stroke but basically had everyone try it for 10 years to refine it. How low do you have to bring down compression to hold a turbod sled open on a river at 1000feet for km because that's what it has to be built for hence the need for mountain specific machines

ECM could manage dialing back the boost for the low elevation. Electronic adjustable boost pressure like on the Sidewinder.

Cat was heavily involved with the design of the turbo part of the Sidewinder, so they know a thing or too and have the technology to pull this off.

Gently fondled.....ooops wrong eggs.:yikes:
Well for a 17K screwing BRP should do any of your eggs any way you want!:rollinglaugh::rollinglaugh:

Oh ya I promised not to do this, and off topic.
Geez sorry.

If and when a 2 stroke turbo comes out it will sell and cat has very reliable motors on boost.
I'd try one on year two production.

Lund is not gonna be happy with those Yamaha percentage points.

When your sled run's for ever, you don't need to buy one every year....duh...LOL

On another note hahaha ^^^hahaha love that. I got to spend a fair amount of time on my buddies 18 Cat's and i enjoyed riding it, lots of fun. Power is really not what i'm use too but on boost i might be interested. But durability is one of my big concerns and Cat if they do this right might be the true deal. A durable boosted 2 stroke.

Otherwise i might just have to wait another 6,7,8years before buying my next Yammi. LOL

Personally I’d like to see a new chassis for 19 and boost for 20. I used to be a cat guy but the chassis just isn’t for me. We had a demo 18 this year. We had about 15 different guys take it and beat on it. Other then 2 brand loyal cat guys no one on Polaris or skidoo liked the chassis. To us it still feels like a bandaid for 2012 heavy mistakes. Another reason for a new chassis is i would hope the turbo kit fits the new chassis better. I’ve worked on a lot of proclimbs with turbos in the passed 5 years and only one or to kits I like the firmest and placement. Just my opinion but they are long over due for a new chassis not just more frknrend changes and it would make more sense to change the chassis then turbo the following year.

Would be nice to see a factory turbo.
Even if it was like a YZ with no warranty I would buy one.
As a factory sled likely have at least a two year warranty.
The Cats are all working well at elevation already, even a 180hp sled at elevation would satisfy a lot of riders and keep motor reliable.
Tune kits for those that want more.
Some low compression pistons and a 5# kit.

That and a decent set of running boards...

Survey response musta been overwhelming for people wanting factory turbos. Can't believe a factory listened to the consumer for once and did something about it. Put a mark on the wall somebody....
