Can't start 2004 a/c king cat 900

Hello, I just bought a 2004 KING CAT 900, I cant seem to pull the rope out more than 4-6 ", I know its a huge motor but I last had a 700 Wildcat and could pull that one over with ease any advise ?

First thing I would do is open the hood, grab the clutch and see if you can turn the engine over by hand. If you can I would look into the recoil. Maybe the rope got tangled.

If you cannot turn the engine over you may have big problems. I would pull the plugs and put something long enough that it will not go all the way into the cylinder at BDC and turn the engine back and forth to see if both pistons are moving. You might have a good project on your hands.

Their high compression and really suck pulling in cold weather.
Dads got one. When it pulls that hard, pull the plugs, pull over a few times rope should pull easily all the way. If it doesn't you've got another issue. If it pulls nicely put plugs back in and reef on that sucker as hard as you can.

Had an 04 as well and it was a bitch to pull when cold, but usually only took one pull everytime. It almost sounds like your rope is stuck/tangled or just too short........

i have a 2008 m 1000 and it's a bitch when it's super cold i pull the plugs and pull over till the pistion's warm a little then reinstall plugs and like always the thrid pull and she fires

we put a cover on our sled and slide a little space heater under it. melts all the ice plus they pull over supper easy... might help in your case as well

My buddy has the same sled, it is just hard to pull over even when warm.

I'll start referring all the spammers over there.... I'm not sure how or why.... but I'd like to know, and get it so they can't even get in......
