I have no sympathy for anyone going on strike, you dont like your job? Most people dont, you think you deserve more money? Go get a better paying job, if you're a good worker you'll get paid more. Unions are only there to protect the people who dont deserve it. Coddling adults who dont deserve what they have.

I was in a union and someone used a company vehicle to go buy drugs on work time, and the person he bought drugs from was an undercover cop. They have it on a recording and video, and was trash talking the employer the whole way. They fired him, the union got his job back and back paid him for almost two years of wages because they never gave him drug/alcohol treatements. So they had to take him back, but he had to do random drug alcohol testing. And he refused to, so they fired him again. Union stepped in and somehow got his job back a second time. this time without backpay. And he came back for a month and then just stopped showing up.

Canada post's union strike is doing nothing but hurting everyone else in Canada, small businesses like myself. They're not hurting the employer, they're hurting the rest of Canada to get their raise.

It's a public service, and public services don't make money. My brother's dad worked for Canada post for 20+ years on the island as a letter carrier (mail man), and was forced to retire due to knee problems. It's not a easy job and I would say the majority of people here wouldn't be capable of it. No not all postal employees are letter carriers, some sort mail, fill the boxes at the local place and other just work the counter. But those people are out there every day.

Just like any other job they want to be able to earn a living.

lol that’s a good joke…… “it’s not an easy job” hahaha it’s dropping mail in a box……. “And the majority of people on here wouldn’t be capable”? How pathetic do you think the people on this site are? Delivering mail has to be one of the easiest jobs I can think of. Our Canada post guy is 100lbs overweight and is done by shortly after lunch everyday….. damn that’s a hard job. And asking for 24% raise lol. I’d love to get a $15 an hour raise but that’s absolutely rediculous. If you wanna make more money get your ass in gear and get a better job. If your fine with a joke of a job all the power to you, but don’t asked to be payed like a skilled educated worker when you put flyers in holes for a living

I’ll do the gender switching surgeries for a case of beer in my garage. No need to save up thousands, I’ll castrate those queer schizophrenic fags with a smile on my face and a beer in my left hand

Its not the workers, it the DCs at the top. How are these idiots still getting bonuses after not being profitable. Anything that has a union or is run by the government is failing while they all get rich. Same with our politicians. In the real world, of you don't perform, you get fired. period.

It’s the sad truth, I work hard cause I enjoy being productive. The only bonus I get is more of a work load…however with that comes double bubble so I’m not complaining lol. I just don’t understand my coworkers that adopted this ‘quietly quitting’ mindset

First off mail doesn't go house by house anymore and if so very few. Machines sort your mail for the route your given that day and you simply go to a Superbox and install or an Apartment building. This is not 1982 it's the 21st century and my inlaw just got a job with the PO doing truck delivery which he says is really a no brainer, just don't leave mail on your truck or else.

I am confused on “earning a living” comment.
What extra education did they have to take to “earn a living”.
Did they have to take out a personal loan to purchase the tools they need for their careers?
Are they required to take extra courses for their job?
How about, do they have to pay a yearly registration and their own insurance to practice their job?
Sorry S.W.A.T. I I get your point of view. Everyone wants to make a living.
But knowingly going into a career (public service) that, as you say, doesn’t make money, then you accepted the fact that you’re not going to be rich. But you’re getting a hell of a pension…
As it has been said, Unions cover laziness and the useless.
Do your job, do it with excellence and you will be awarded.
Might not be with the company you’re with now, but people do see if you’re an asset or an ass.

In Revelstoke the vast majority of residents have to go the post office for mail or in the outskirts a kiosk of mailboxes . We have no home delivery . I have thankfully submitted a no flyers notice so the only crap mail I get is from the government attempting to tell me how wonderful they are. It goes straight into the recycling bin at the post office.

If we opt out of flyers, we have to pay extra.
I’m saving your sorry, whinny ass extra work and now I have to pay extra? Fawk right off.
Most every flyer is available online , pay more to get less? That’s really messed up
