I'm sure it would have lasted longer with some oil in the jug in the first place LOL

Just found the thread catmando, I would love to give you a little insight into the unit, but thats the way I brought the machine and I did not do anything to it. Let me do a little bit of checking with the guy I brought the machine off of and see what he says. I will let you know as soon as I know something. If I did know anything i would for sure let you know.

I call BS but thanks for the reply!Unless of course you never fired it up but when I asked if it runs you said yes, when I fired it up it took less than 15 seconds to blow oil all over the motor(from the donut)which tells me it was cleaned up real nice and never started untill I started it.Just an assumming but have to go with my gut.It can still be sold as a roller(2800) if the motors shot,Anyway a deal is a deal and Im OK with it as you have a few repairs as well,Sold as is where is and take your chances kind of deal,Itys all good!

If the sound is coming from the primary, its more than likely your spring tower cap. Pull off your primary and check for free play. Otherwise, while your primary is off, do a drive shaft runout. Hook up a feeler gauge to the drive shaft, pull your spark plugs, and slowly pull your recoil to turn your engine over. Check to see if your crankshaft is with in factory specs. If you don't know how to do this, TurboAl in Revelstoke can do it for you at the SledShed. Very knowledgable guy.....

If it wasnt such a long drive I would be there in a second,I will however time permitting have someone look at it,I also found an engine for it if its cooked,Just need some guy who knows what he's doing to help me out, tried to take it to Jared a couple times but I dont think he is putting in full days so after trying twice I got tired of loading it so Im hoping some nice person will do a house call for me for beers or cash.Appreciate your reply!

when my crank just let go it had a harsh vibration under load for about 1 minute. Felt like a bearing in the drive system. then it seized. Probably not your crank. If you were closer to brooks I would help you in a second./ Very easy sled to work on and diagnose. most rotating equiptment doesnt make sound for very long before catastrophic failure. I would start in the clutches, then move to the engine. try pulling the plugs and turning engine over by hand slowly and feel for rough spots or sticky spots. Good luck.

Not Sure
Pull that primary apart. Something is hammering pretty good, probabally tower cap bushing gone. Easy fix. If that was the crank malikng that racket it won't last long.

So, since I got the sled from Catmando. Thanks again.
This is how it looks tonight. Dusty at Snowmobilerecylers, has been great with all of the new parts. I needed to order. We're going to look(he's gonna show me) at the primary this week. There does seem to be a little to much play in the tower cap. But this is the first time I have ever taken a primary apart. The rest is.................LOL

Why'd you pull the handlebars off?? Just curious.

The handlebars had so many welds in them. I just didn't feel comfortable with them there. And for a price of new, but never used(still used) of $33.50. I had a hard time not wanting too.
