She didn't say that was an option. Her response was "Unfortunately, we cannot insure the camper that will be mounted on the trailer as it will be a “homemade unit”."

Yes, get your friend too sell you this trailer for X amount of funds on Bill of sale.

Insurance the trailer at the value you want too be reimbursed for, the camper is just a pay load that happens to be on the trailer is all.

It will all work out if you approach this in a different way.

It's all in how present what your insurance plan is.

Keep it simple so you don't confuse them since all your doing is hauling a pay load from point A too B.

The main thing is that you have your trailer covered... Wink wink.

Don

PS: There is nothing wrong with insuring & registering a utility trailer.

It is what it is brother.

Cool project! (Your bear has a white nose)
Pal Lem is right about the insurance. Treat it like a sled trailer and you want the sleds insured.

So you don't need liability on trailer as it follows the truck that is towing it. All you can insure for is fire theft and collision. If you tell them it's a utility trailer, they probably won't cover the cargo anyways, that would be considered a house claim, just like if your truck is broken into and they steal tools out of it. Is there really any point putting insurance on it for just the chassis?

princess auto has all different sizes, and fairly cheap too

They are $99 for 2. I was hoping to find a better deal than that. Trying to be economical haha. I did find stairs for $10!

So curious if you have considered the amount of dust that will fill the dog area when you drive on any dirt/gravel road. I can't even keep it out of my perfect sealed trailer. Yeah sure its a dog area but its going to get nasty quick.

Yep I have considered it but it doesn't really concern me. Funny you say that though I had a new trailer to live in when I was doing my renos and that thing let in so much dust on gravel roads I couldn't believe it. You'd think a new trailer and spending x amount of dollars you wouldn't have to be trying to reseal it all yourself! The dealer wouldn't even do anything. I hope you aren't having any issues like that Danny.

I spotted these the other day while searching old kijiji for chit I can't afford or shouldn't be buying anyhow! I think I'm getting 4 for my old girl. I mean holiday trailer lol!
