Bulkhead badly damaged . . .

Hey there, I have been combing through a few sites looking for success stories on getting anywhere with warranty for their bulkhead. I have a 17 Summit 165 and I was going less than 15 km/h and bounced over a stump and snapped off the S and E mods and cracked the bulkhead in another spot. I hit it with my ski only. Zero damage to anything else. Just curious if anyone has had any luck with warranty. This is a severely defective part IMO, quite discouraged. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a poo.
Poor sled was dunked in a drainage on Sat then used as a bulldozer on Sunday with only a broken nose cone. Poor tree didn't fair so well.
Sucks if & when damage happens - hope you're back on the snow soon.

Pretty sad that these bulkheads are that weak... more sad if a sled is a write off because of this. Sorry about your situation... that sucks.

The sad part is that you can still have this happen with a brand new 2019, for whatever reason doo is not fixing obvious issues, motors going down at the 2-3000 km mark, and the ones that are running are using large amounts of oil, some as low as 16:1, belt eating pigs that you cannot even rub a hard piece of snow the wrong way or its write off. Don't get me wrong, the sled is one of their best handling sleds to date with great power but who can afford to ride one, $25.00 a day for oil, $250 a belt and I have heard of many people using 2 a weekend and having to cut their ride short because they have no extra spares. The sled is expensive to buy and to own but yet they have the strongest following and are usually the most common on the hill, how long will it take for people to buy another brand causing low sales numbers to maybe force the bombardier gods to realize that they need to fix their s%!t, aint gonna happen, in my opinion doo is on year 3 of a dud but of coarse all the doolaid boys will be on here proving me otherwise ha ha.

At most the sled needs an E & S Module- total retail cost of $884.98. How would replacing $900 in parts write off a $18,000 sled??? Typically insurance companies will write off a unit when the repairs approach 60% of it's value. Even at $16,000 60% is $9600. That's a lot of labor!

I have seen sleds written off for alot less.

All depends on the adjuster and what your dealer tells them is wrong.

Worth a shot.

And if you just drop that sled off at the dealer it is gonna be a $4500-$6000 bill for parts and labour.

Sled is worth $5500-6500 black book value..........

That sucks. Did your dealer contact you about the bulkhead reinforcement recall? Not saying it would have saved everything but it may have minimized the damage.

Last weekend I was climbing up a creek wide open and hit a cut off tree just under the snow. It stopped me dead and I flew over the bars. I got away with only a bent shock. It think that's largely attributed to having the bulkhead bracing.

Oh oh...i know go ride and ride more.

Those sled's are not $18,000 LOL closer to $25,000 or more by the time you buy the belts required to run it and a module this and module that and crates of oil.
Add that all up with not being able to ride cause its in the shop, hell of an expensive sled for what your getting. Must be a Millennial sled, treat me right or i'll crap on you and blame you for it.

Depending on quote it is about 4500 to replace both with labor.
Should not be a write off but put the brace in for the extra 300.

Shatty deal but that's life with the 850 G4.

Your numbers are a bit off, used 2017 doo black book like 10k not $16000, 55-60% of that is 5500-6000, 900 for parts, with tax and shop supplies thats a $1000, and then 4500-5000 in labour, my buddies had a big gouge in the ski from the log he hit under the snow so insurance added in the cost of a new ski as well, parts came to 1250 on his and with 4500-5000 in labour hit over $6000 easy so insurance wrote it off, he bought it back from insurance for a good price i guess and is gonna try and fix it himself, he also got a new one with the insurance money, after all said and done a good way to get a backup mountain sled
