This motor has a lot of WEBER influence so you won`t have to worry about reliability. Also this is a much more performance oriented motor that has room to grow. And it fits the chassis alot better by te looks of it....

This is the most powerful engine ever from factory of any atv/utv ever made.
I would say it is more than a "done up rzr " lol It`s suspension and poer are second to none. 30% faster than a Commander :)

30% faster huh? Based on what exactly? Top speed? 1/4 Mile? Seat of the pants impression? In what conditions? Are you sure it isn't 29%? Does the suspension work 37% better? Are the brakes 22% stronger? LOL these advertising guys can throw out any number they feel like and people like you just eat it up. They give you a max horsepower figure which hasn't been backed up by any independant testing and here you are waving the polaris flag saying its the most powerful sxs engine ever. What does the dyno curve look like? What are the torque numbers? You know...the things that actually make a difference in the real world. Somebody asked why they didn't use the proven 850 engine instead but the answer is obvious if you think about it. The 850 doesn't have the on-paper horsepower numbers to beat Can-Am in the "big dick" advertising contests that people like my good friend rzrgade here religiously believe in. Given that it's a polaris I would say the most important information you need to know about this new machine is what kind of warranty do they offer on it.

Based on 300 foot drags they are 29% faster or about 90 feet.As far as HP numbers this is backed by CARB testing (if you know what that is, lol). The fact of the matter is my info is coming from people who design and race these for a living .That includes Highlifter,Jagged x,Rath racing to name a few . They have forgotten more about this stuff than you and i will ever know , so i will take there word on it. I think it will soon prove it self in the real world as there are 6 racing at glamis right now and the video`s are coming in and will back up the facts...If your only objective is to come on here to bash Polaris please take your business else where as it is not really wanted nor acceptable in this post.

Muffy why are you so concerned about size ....? Your machine has all you can handle apparently....

As I recall I tried to end the brand bashing on this thread some time ago, but you had to keep throwing in little digs towards everyone else so I figured it was still game on. I'm sorry if our little conversation has left you upset, if it's any consolation I'm sure your new Polaris will be a fantastic machine for dune riding (hard to find in Canada) or UTV racing (basically nonexistant in Canada). Those of us more interested in practical applications and who don't have to show off by having the newest, fastest thing out there will probably look elsewhere for their UTV needs. And that's all I have to say about that.

Being that is only approximately 3-1/2" wider than the S models I can't see it being that much harder to manuver and handle on the trails and cut lines that I ride with my RZR4. The new motor would be nice to have available in the RZR4, could always use a little more umph. From my understanding the way the 850 was designed and the fact that it mounts 90 degrees opposite of a regular motor it would have required a big frame modification to mount in the rzr chassis. Am I thinking correctly?

1st year new motor=Polaris may wait to see JMHO
Looks like a good unit. To fast for how I ride. How can you have a ride down the cutlines exploring or hunting at 50 MPH:nono:

There is already aftermarket rims to make it the same width as a rzr s ,which does quite well on the trails now. Please explain this idea that because it has lots of power it is only good for the dunes , The physical dimensions are very close to the commander and rzr s ,so why is this machine only a duner ,i don`t get the correlation.....I would agree that this is a performance machine and not made for hunters, then again so is a Canam renegade and i see lots of them on the trail....

I think Polaris did very well with their latest RZR. Its kind of like the XP Sportsman V.S the regular sportsman, but only in SXS's. As far as trail critisism goes.. Didn't the same arguements take place when the first SXS hit the market? I think this machine would be awesome for pretty much anything, and it could turn silverbacks like nobody's business.

And of corse you wouldn't be hunting in a RZR XP, as the name implies, its for eXtreme Performance.

If you want to hunt, get a Ranger XP.

I use my RZR4 for hunting. Strap the bow case in the front passenger seat, gun scabboard mounts to the grab bar for the rear passengers, chain saw case belted in on the left rear passenger seat, pop-up ground blind on the other side and the rest of my gear fits in the lock n' ride box. Once there is an animal on the ground head back to hunting camp for the trailer.

This is the way I look at it.......My RZR just fits into places as it is now. Thats why I bought it over a "S". I'm at 56" with the flares and larger tires and sometime I still rub the sides of the tires and flares. Yes more power is allways nice but I can add that any time I like. This new model looks great, has lots of power and would be great to ride, but, for me, it just wouldn't work for 75% of the places I ride.
I can get myself into trouble going the 60 mph mine does now. Has anyone heard what the top speed of the RZR XP is? The commander goes darn near 75 mph. Why you need to go that fast unless your on somekind of road? Your not going to do that kind of speed off road unless you have a death wish.

After all that said......I would still like one, just because :d

how fast can a person go in the bush? most areas I ride if u hit more then 25-30 kms and hour you are doing good. my brother as a rzr and he thinking about getting rid of it to buy a quad as the rzr is overkill for him. 88hp is just a case of small man syndrom, with that much powder the dunes or FSR are the only place u will open it up,and for those places a dirtbike would shine IMO.

The way I see it should be a great machine for some people for their kind of riding.

It' just not for me..... If I was going for a side x side I would still choose the regular RZR .... it is narrower and has a shorter wheel base.
This makes it that much more bush and mountain freindly.

Alot of the areas I ride the Side x sides are just to big period.

As i said before, no one needs the power of a rennegade but people buy them by the dozens.
That is my point and the reason POPO sells 5 s/s to everyone else's 1. We all like something different ,thank goodness and that is why there are several versions of the rzr and ranger. To each his own i guess. What i do not understand is to criticize the machine because it is not the right one for you . If it does not FIT you don`t buy it.

It`s kind of like if you do not like RZR`s and don`t own or want one, why come on this post and bash them , obviously it`s not for you......
