Is the Holy Smoke still in business? I did a couple trips to Blue River in the past and stayed there and enjoyed it.. I’m thinking a trip to Blue in late March or early April for some spring sledding..

I believe they are open, under new ownership I think, they post condition reports on S&M sometimes.

not too sure why the boys didn't use the wooden bridge? maybe thats a skier only thing? I have seen this creek crossed a few times in videos this and last season and wondered why?

Blue River is an incredible place to snowmobile.

Ventured into Ground Hog East / West
-Mainline was rough going in but groomed coming out; rough up to junction w Ground Hog East; was a blast with no tracks to Ground Hog West.

Came back a day later to Finger Bowls.
-Trail was rough along the highway due to warm temps; went deep into the area, rewarded with untracked powder; while back there got some helpful tips from two awesome guys riding Polaris (thanks boys!). Punched through the ice when I got distracted. Sleds don’t float! Sunk a 1/4 way on the front end. Needed two straps and four of us to pull it up and out. Burned the belt and my pride took a hit. Good thing to have spare clothes and family to help on the trail.

Finished the last day in Red Sands.
-Trail in was fantastic for 10 km; found powder with no tracks immediately when we got into the area; awesome tree riding; and after the bridge at 10 km fantastic trail for family riding on the logging road. Goes a long way and isn’t groomed but it didn’t matter.

We found fresh, untracked powder each day.
Used GAIA GPS and the public tracks feature to help out. Although my iPhone didn’t show the tracks while offline. Others in the group did see public tracks. Not sure why the difference. Will screen shot next time.

EDIT: So GAIA GPS, if you download the app, automatically makes ALL of your tracks public and any track you have saved since the fall may have gone public. You can go in and change that in settings if you are the secret squirrel type. You can go back to old saved tracks and change it to private as well. Also, brother-in-law advised to turn on app while you have cell/wifi service. If you keep GAIA on, the public tracks stay visible. Cheat code unlocked…

We normally sled McBride and Valemount. Excited to add Blue River to the roster. And was feeling lucky so bought several 50/50 tickets to support the Blue River snowmobile club.

Was great to get out there and explore!

Can’t seem to find information if Coulees, Holy Grail, etc is closed or just not groomed. Anyone know if we can still get in?
