It says that the warranty is measured from "20 km" but they wrote in 24 km. That seems strange.......If that vehicle is noted somewhere in their books or Chryslers warranty database to have 20 km in December of 2014....you may be out of luck.

That's true, I guess.....then why fill in that line?
So then a guy would need to see the manufacturer's warranty and read the coverage

CYLE, do you have a copy of the manufacturer's warranty?....post it up if you can.

The line is blank, the 20 is the prefilled portion for the year.

I’m pretty sure I do somewhere.

Actually waiting for my brother to check his warranty, as he purchased a 5500 from great west also, assuming from the same order. Interested to know if the problem is with all the 30 something trucks sold.

hmmmm, you're right, that "20" is supposed to have a date written in of when the warranty starts. Since they declined to fill in a start date, would a judge be inclined to rule that warranty start date should then be the sale date?

Again;"If demonstrator" This wasn't a demo so that box is irrelevant.

Good to know for others. I got my 5500 from Southside in Red Deer a couple years back. They were 6K less than any dealer in Edmonton, All of the dealers here didn't even try to get fleet pricing. They had lots of stock in 5500s and not all white, Red, Blue, Black white...

Its nice to have a SVC truck that isn't white lol

As a member of the driving public, I thank you for not buying a white truck or white crossover.

Bought a 2015 Ram 5500 in April of this year from Great west, without getting into any of the chit of the actual purchase, I found out last week that the truck was originally bought by Calmont leasing back in 2014 as a order of 30 some trucks and cancelled. How did I find this out? Because the warranty on the truck started in december of 2014, not in april of 2017 when I bought it brand new with 24 km on it, with new manufacture warranty clearly on the bill of sale. Surprise surprise great west tells me they told me, and they have paperwork saying so (but somehow cannot find it). They are refusing to do anything about it, they are upset because I did not return their 2 mudflaps and 2 2x4s they put on the truck, so they won't even look at the issue until I do. Apparently i'm lucky they didn't call the cops on me for not returning their property

Chrysler says they can't do anything, they were suppose to talk to the dealer but they don't get back to me, another dealer who gave me more information on it says only great west can do it. It's as simple as them telling chrysler to change the date, if they want to.....

Anyhow, because of how they are handling it i'm just going to sue the fawkers for selling me a used truck/not full warranty, i'm not going to let them get away with this crap. I will never step foot in the dealership again, been going there for service for the last 10 years but not going to support such a crooked dealership, even by dealership standards. So be forewarned if you have any desire to ever deal with them, run far far away. Before the warranty issue it was hands down the worst buying experience ever between them lying, rude, etc etc. But this takes it to a whole new level of shadiness.

Well I better follow up on mine. I’m sure I have one of these trucks purchased new in Feb 2016.

Defiantly no talk of warranty start day differing from purchase date.

Found out today the warranty is reinstated, the GM of GW also called me twice, oddly thinking this is urgent now, when they only have 7 more days to response to lawsuit. Assuming they are hoping I will drop it now, and they can avoid any legal fees, if they think that they can keep dreaming. Things moved pretty quickly once they found out I wasn't messing around.

I sure hope you make them pay dearly for this! Went there once to look for a jeep for the wife and that was honestly the slimiest, most dishonest group of scumbags I have ever seen. Ended up buying a jeep in a similar situation as your truck and it was clearly marked on the bill of sale what the actual "in service" date was. IMG_0442.jpg

Glad it worked out for you. (Some) Dealerships can be difficult to deal with. Now that you have an 'in service date' of Dec 27/16 you should have no issues. If you have any difficulty dealing with great west for vehicle warranty (service dept) you can still shop around. Most dealers want your warranty business. It normally turns into service work and a continued positive relationship with a new customer from a different (new) dealership. I'm a GM guy so I don't have any personal experience with dodge dealerships to recommend for you, but I'm sure there is plenty of guys on here that can recommend one for you. There is probably 8-10 dealers within 40 minutes of Busby for you to choose from.

Well it's all settled, came to an agreement. Warranty date changed to what it should be, and paid me $1500 on top of that for the hassle/legal fees. Overall i'm happy, sure I could have got more, but in the end i'm satisfied I got extra money out of it, and I don't really have the time to keep spending on it.

Full disclosure, I found out the warranty date was wrong because Stefani Motors (Dodge dealer in Barrhead who is awesome btw) called me and asked if I would sell the truck they had someone who really wanted a long wheel base 5500 that was black and had nothing, no BS offered good price so I sold it to them. It was hands down my best experience with a dealer ever, my next truck purchase will be there, I recommend anyone to deal with them, it's worth the hour drive from the city. Anyways, they paid me $5000 more for the truck then I paid for it new, plus I got the $1500 from great west, and that was after driving the truck for the summer and putting over 10k km on it, so overall i'm happy.
