I agree. If your going on a vacation give your pet one at a kennel. Ive stayed in a hotel with a barking dog at 2am because the owner was still at the bar. If they are equal then buy one of those trailers on skis and take them with you riding.

Wow... I can't believe how quickly a thread can turn into a junior high sh!t show!! I'm pretty sure they were just informing people who went to the Best Western for the same reasons they did, that things have changed.

It's sad really that select few on a great site like this can ruin it for some! It's no wonder that some people never post on here. They are probably reluctant because they might be attacked for having an opinion different than someone else or for, God forbid, spelling incorrectly!! Really??? I'm pretty sure you were smart enough to figure it out!

Sorry if my spelling and grammar is not up to certain standards but I couldn't give 2 sh!ts...

Plz save yourself and stop posting if youcant see that the fact in his first sentance he reinforces how valuable his business is to he best western by stating he has been staying there for ten Years in a town that spear even exist. Spelling or not this story already has no relevance and I'm having an extremely hard time feeling any sympathy whatsoever. Perhaps if there room caught on fire we would have something to discuss. Dogs on a hotel room is a no brained. Remember hotels have a standard to live up too and barking chittimg pizzing dogs are not part of thebest western franchise contract

My apologies as I was unaware you were the designated Sheriff of S & M!? So unless a thread has your stamp of approval, don't bother posting then??? You were also the one to blow up the spelling error which, you're right, had no relevance what so ever. So I am assuming you are S & M's personal spell check as well??

Pretty sure he didn't mention anything about getting sympathy. As I stated earlier he was stating an opinion, and you're the one gettin your panties in a knot!

I am aware you have advised me to not post again, however I just wanted to get a few things clear Mr. Sheriff and spell check extraordinaire...

I'm with Maxwell, I'm not going to waste my time reading the crap that I'm sure is in this thread, but I was just at that hotel last weekend and didnt see any bar that they were charging for in the lobby and there was people of all ages in the common area enjoying the fire and sitting around chatting and there was a family there with a dog because they were moving, hense the the big uhaul truck in the parking lot pulling a trailer with a car on it with out of province plates, was this person suppost to try and find a kennel in town to house his dog for the one night they were passing through town?. If you have a problem with the hotel allowing pets then bring your beef to them. And this could also be thrown back at the parents with the bratty kids that run up down the halls screaming (not saying this happened at the Vale BW but i've screamed at kids and their damn parents before) they should be put into a kennel as well cause most dogs I've seen in hotels are better trained then the damn kids and the appatheic parents that need just as much training!:nono:

im no sheriff but i know the best western is a platnium sponsor of our snowmobiling in valemount and i dont apreciate badmouthing something that has nothing wrong with it.

MY point about the spelling was that if the OP had stayed here for ten years he could spell it correctly.

and when i was in there yesterday there was still a family area and a fire like shoppingcart11 mentioned...

Just remember they set the rules because of past guests they don't do it to be azzholes......now for the $7 buck beers if you buy them they will sell them if no one bought them for $7 they wouldn't sell them for $7

As an animal lover I can see why people could be upset. My dog was always part of the family, but we were selective as to where and when we would take him on trips. As an animal lover and smoker I would be reluctant to stay in a room where pets have been cause accidents happen and who knows what is cleaned up and what hasn't been. I also stay in non smoking rooms.

My point is everybody badmouths something whether it be a brand or riding area... it is all a matter of OPINION!! If you think the Best Western rocks then stay there! No one is stopping you. For the people who went there for the same reasons as him maybe will chose somewhere else... which will still support that area. No big deal! Spelling the place correctly will not make stayin there more or less enjoyable or have any impact on anything however. Jumping down someones throat for spelling or having an opinion is just a douche move IMO!

This is suppose to be a friendly informative site and if I see something I don't agree with, I keep my yap shut and let others have their own opinion!

Well thanks to all that took this post as an informadible one. I did not intend to piss off all of you pet haters and spell checkers. I was just trying to let people like me that bring thier family on vacation know that this once great place was changing its ways. Of course it angerd me but I think some one coming up next week would be even worse if they did not know this was happining and found out when they checked in with there family. As far as I know they still allow pets just not in the common area after 5pm, and kids after 7pm(what kid goes to bed at 7, mabey 9).

This post is for informational purposes only, Thank you.

Let's clear things up...

You are allowed dogs in the room but not unattended? Sounds reasonable.

Kids are not allowed in the Pub/Restaurant/Lounge after 7pm or Maybe 9pm, but he's "not sure"? 7pm seems a bit overkill, but 9pm's quite reasonable.

$7 a beer? Pre-Drink/Drink in your hotel room.

Common Area Fireplace no longer existing? According to Shoppingcart111 it's still there, just doesn't allow dogs anymore.

If you come to Valemount to sled for the weekend, I don't see the harm in leaving your dog at a Kennel or caretakers place. I know they are family to some of you, but to stick them in a hotel room all day? If I was a dog I would much rather be chilling with other dogs.

Kids are not allowed in the Cranberry Lounge after 7, my dog stays with my wife and kids and most times there grandma, who go for walks around town when the guys go riding. I agree 9 would be ok because that is when most kids go to bed. And to clear things up this new lounge started up about 1 hour before this thread started, so agian this was just to inform others about the changes.

I've stayed at the BW with the family and our dog. it's a nice place and we had no trouble with having the hound there, the rule about not leaving them unattended is because of dogs that constantly bark when left alone and has always been in effect. our dog is a standard poodle and does not shed, and never barks...he is a pleasure to travel with, and cannot be left in a kennel because he gets stressed out and stops eating. we have left him with family and friends before but sometimes it is not an option and we must bring him along. I appreciate hotels like the BW for allowing our pet to stay with us, I will continue to stay there with my family.
