Best radios to use?

I tested the 10watt TYT the Baofeng gt-5tp beat it. Zastone makes a very nice programming software it works really good. However i have used wouxun kg-UV8D in chirp to program the Zastone A19

I have a GT5TP as well. It’s basically the same as the UV82HP with a slightly different case.

You will have to test your radios and let us know your findings. Some of the specs on the brown box UV9R's I have seen are 5 watt, some say 8. I am content with my GT5 but I want to add another to my gear bag for those days you end up riding with someone and they have bubble packs or their batteries are dead or whatever.

I should add, I am not currently a fan of the UV9R because it doesn't take a standard two prong mic as well so I would have to add a couple of multi touch mics to my inventory where normally I can just have a regular two prong Kenwood style kicking around my gear bag.

8000E sounds right. It is a well constructed radio, tri band version, its basically sitting on the shelf.

Sounds good, I will have a gander. The best mic I have had luck with though costs 4x as much is the Kenwood KMC 21. They don't claim its waterproof but it has been more reliable than the $10 chinese ones.

Is the Zastone programmed through Chirp? Or is there a specific A-19 CHIRP version?

I have a 10watt TYT that I cannot program with Chirp and its annoying as its a nice radio.

I tried for a little while to program my A-19 with chirp and gave up. I had to copy and paste all frequencies, tones, channel names etc one by one into the Zastone software. Unfortunately you cant import a csv file into the zastone software. It took me about an hour to enter in my 100 or so channels. I saved my channel list from the zastone software so now if I get another A-19 it will be easy.

They claim to have a 15w as well but some youtubers tested it to be 5w

Thanks I know they are not real I was just pointing out there are lots of wattage claims on various radios.

If you look under the battery on the uv-9r is says 8 watt. Or the T51. Testing i have done on other radios have proven that someone is lying on wattage with the baofengs.

Me too, it costs more than my radio and works fantastic! Just need to cover it so it doesn’t freeze off.

I'm wondering if someone can tell me why my external mike on my Baofeng only periodically works when someone is calling me? They can always hear me, but I can't hear them all the time. ANY HELP?

I found the mic only works on one of the two channels. Bottom button on my uv82
