Best deep cycle batteries for rv ?

Agreed, Rocky's is the way to go. I've bought all my batteries from them for years. I bought a 2 Battery enclosure to hold my Two 6V batteries neatly on RV from Rocky's also.

Like i said in my previous post. 99% of all issues with deep cycle batteries is the owner and not knowing how to take care of them....charging. Nothing wrong with Kirkland, its your charging method.
You can take the cheapest to buy battery and make them out last the most expensive battery, if you know how to charge them properly.
Like i said, most batteries are made in the same factory.

And that's why I'm fine with buying Kirkland batteries.... I can buy 2 to 3 sets before its equal cost to the "high quality" ones. Also can't beat Costco warranty.

But hey if you want the best battery pay the premium.

Nothing wrong with what your doing, in fact why pay premium $$ when the ones you have will perform just as good. The problem is your charging system will short live the batteries. Invest in a proper charging system and the Kirklands will last just as long as any other $$$ batteries out there. In the long run you save your self money.

Sometimes you can bring back a pooched battery by using a desulfator, them smart charging it. I have a BatteryMINDer unit that has brought a lot of batteries back from the dead.

Last set of batteries we had on trailer were Trojans. Lasted 9 years! After a lot of research, now running Kirklands. Thought about Trojans, but nosing around it seems lots of people are losing faith in Trojans...not lasting as long, lower specs than cheaper brands, prices going up. Interstate had good specs and could get them at fairly decent price under account. Rocky's has Crown's which have great specs and good reviews.

I agree with previous posts about battery care. Lack of it is indeed the biggest cause of short life and failure. How many people look after batteries properly in the off season?

Will see how the Kirklands work out. Good warranty, lots of Costco locations if needed. 2 seasons now and going strong.

I bought two of the kirklands. One for the camper and one for the engine side of the motorhome. Both working great so far but time will tell. I have heard good things and the price is good.

i found my trailer charger would over charge my batteries so i bought a noco genius g7200 charger,put a quick disconnect on the positive wire and wired the charger to the battery and plugged it inside the trailer.if i need just 12 volt i connect the positive wire and run just off the batteries. the charger has 3 levels of charge and floats and replenishes sulfates and has quick connects so if i need it for anything else just unplug. it is safe for wet,gel,mf and agm batteries

There are many factors why deep cycle batteries fail. One of them reason is improper charging techniques. There is info. out there to help you understand the difference between a starting battery and deep cycle.
One of the differences is the construction of the grid plates. While a starting battery is design to release a large amount of amps quickly the deep cycle is not. It is design to release amps slowly at a longer period of time. One of the ways they achieve this is by the grid design. The starting battery has a large perforation design, this allows for the flow of high amps. While the deep cycle will use a small perforation grid design so only allowing a small controlled amount of amps to flow.
This is where the charging problem comes in, using a regular auto charger for starting battery on a deep cycle can and will damage it. A deep cycle needs an initial high amp to reactivate the cell but it also needs to lower the amp flow input to a low amp for a much longer period of time to equalize the cells. Charging a deep cycle battery on a high amp regular charger that regulates it self by voltage. (90% of all starting battery chargers) and not by amps will damage the grid plates of a deep cycle battery by blowing the grid holes bigger.
The other common problem with deep cycle batteries is most people don't allow the battery to equalize it self and basically treat them like regular starter batteries.
Another problem is people opportune charge their batteries. In other word don't allow the battery to cycle because they feel the battery needs to be kept fully charge. This actually shorten's the deep cycle battery life significantly.
Another problem i have seen is the use of vehicle alternators to charge deep cycles. Like i mention farther up, an alternator is only regulated by voltage and not by amp out put. So the high amps from the alternator is actually damaging the battery.

There are lots of chargers out there for batteries and its easy to get fooled by advertising. A proper deep cycle charger or charger capable of charging both style are not cheap or purchased at Canadian tire.

I ended up going back to Battery World yesterday on Barlow NE. The sale price was off and reg price was 195 each. I asked how long has the sale been over for and one of the owners said.... " If I quoted you sale price, then that's what you pay!".
So I got them for 375/pair and they threw in the $5 jumper cable, I tried hard to give him 5 bucks, but no way, he was taking it!!!
Then took the batteries out to the truck and they wanted to give me the universal handle as well.....

I have nothing but good so far to say about, Battery World and first impressions..... I would recommend them.

I need to replace the batteries in my Rv. It now has four 12 volt batteries in it. Should I just replace with four 12 volt again, or four six volt. Only have room for four.

If you do any dry camping go with the 6 volts they last alot longer

totally agree. I dry camp and have 2 6v batteries with a good solar panel and have no issues all summer. my solar panels help lots.

6 volts....battery world is where I got mine. My 5th wheel only had one 12 volt. Bought battery boxes from princess auto cheap and got the 6 volts on sale from battery world in Edmonton.

Definitely 2-6v. Got mine at Ricky’s but I’d look at Costco too. Have bought all my latest batteries there and no issues.
