These radio can do a lot but I try and make them so they are usable right out of the box. The manual and google are you friend

you can also try turning the squelch up. It is menu 0, When I send them out I have they set at 3

Push A/B button, then up / down arrows let you adjust.
Push A/B button again, then up/down arrows scroll through options

I will be using my BF-F8HP on a couple seismic programs over the next couple weeks. I will give a review when I’m done. They worked good in revy so I’m guessing they will work just fine in the north sask river valley

Thanks Ray, we just got back from sic what a difference the radios make. so easy. 5 of us me and trout and three others. all worked great, nice to hear trout warning us not to follow his line and go around . sure saved a lot of stucks and mayhem. lol
