I have tested a lot of different Baofeng models, the Zastones did extremely well in the tests. I have a half a dozen Quansheng comings, if they make it through customs.

BCA has some excellent equipment and great customer service. Their radios are not worth the $$$. Buy the Baofeng from Ray and never look back. Then you can call KM’s on the logging roads for your own safety.

You should be good than. I thought you were wondering if it was a knockoff or not. If Im understanding this right, Ray got the name of his kits radios changed, and there is a newer mic.

I bought a radio from Ray last season and it was the UV-82XR. I grabbed another from him last week for a spare and it’s the same model radio, same antenna and mic. He is shipping the same model this year and last.

The Quanshengs arrived and they work amazingly well, best range I have ever gotten out of a handheld. They transmit at 11 watts.

Which one puts out 11w. I googled that name and a uv-50 popped up which looks identical to a beofeng. Only 5w.

Not sure if anything over the current 8 Watt radios is beneficial. Higher watts will just drain the battery faster and these things already have awesome line of sight range. That and any higher power and I’m pretty sure I’m lining my helmet with tinfoil so I don’t cook my brain.

Well the so called 10 watts i have tried is the tyt, zastone A19, zastone 889g and baofeng UV-XR. The TG-UV2Plus works the best, the baofeng was the worse of the 10 watts.
